I had no idea that was a Weetabix!

I pestered my Dad for clackers - in those days you only got a toy on birthdays and at Christmas and I needed my clackers about 6 months before my b'day.

I wore him down in the end, got my yellow clackers and proceeded to bruise my knuckles for weeks until the novelty wore off.

I just call him a Weetabix, I'm sure whoever designed him didn't have weetabix in mind!

oh god...

the decor...our whole house was orange and brown, walls, carpets, furnishings with big feck off jazzy patterns

the thing that beat clackers for knuckle damage was playing starwars with broom shanks. and we had proper metal tonka trucks that were so strong you could sit on them to bomb down the back street, till the wheels jammed on a stone and you went the rest of the way on your arse (we were too poor to afford a new fangled skate board).

god yeah! the saturday matinee it was all crap but it got the kids out from under their mother's feet for an hour or two, it was almost compulsory. the double deckers...famous five...can't think what else but it was awful
