I believe David made a bee line for Lisa, because he felt that Lisa would protect him, he comes across as a weak character and will follow the leader. Although David says he is his own man and has his own opinions, he doesnt he listens to Lisa`s and then adopts them as his own. David is a follower not a leader and his type are usually trampled on and used in life.

When david went in to house lisa was hated on outside only david would try to befriend her
He absoulutely adores her he is very loyal as he was to bea after all she done on him,and he is not the type i imagine would go againest a mate

I like David, I can't help myself. He reminds me of an exciteable puppy. Lisa is clever in a streetwise way and got David on side very early on and he thinks he is just standing up for her.
I don't think he is the sharpest pencil in the box and Lisa has taken advantage of this, I could see him palling up with Sophie in the last few days if Lisa does go tonight.

To be fair as far as I could see aside from Lisa none of the others tried very much to get to know Dave....Ken and Tom stayed together...Bea was like a limpet to Freddy ....We barely saw Hira ....Still none of this can explain why he was booed I know.

As Lisa has also proved, you don't have to be academically clever to be clever per se. Streetwise clever can get you places too. Crafty clever is even better. Make no mistake, David knows exactly what he is doing. Having pre-knowledge and using it has proved to be David at his most clever. He is, after all, in the final week. Now that's clever.
