OMG....one of my fave ever films and I adore Douglas Bader too....and Kenneth Moore (who plays him in film). We go to Duxford Air Museum a lot and there is a whole section about him, complete with uniform and stuff....I tend to get a tad emotional when there....I have loads of books about him as well...including one with a pic of him outside our old house in Haverhill...I used to open our front door and just be amazed that he had stood there!!

 

I may have to watch 'Reach For The Sky' in bed now!!!

Thank you cupcake Thank you mrs b That's very interesting about your Douglas bader connection, I feel I really must read the book! How come he was outside your house?! No wonder you bought it Lori, it really does feel like my half birthday! Being banned has certainly made me realise what I would miss, and people's kindness these last 24 hours just goes to show how wonderful our community members are
