I wouldn't have been in the least offended by those words  Who is Douglas barder anyway?

Oh Douglas Barder was a legendary war pilot, he lost both his legs in an accident and learned to walk again, then got back into the RAF, fought some more, crashed and got put into a prisoner of war camp and escaped from there! The film is reach for the sky, in which he says "jolly good show" like no other I've ever heard, and I love him so I say it often when congratulating someone for winning in the bus stop thread
