I noticed the new Search facility had arrived overnight, and this is to be welcomed.

But I have noticed some bugs in this and I have reported these over in the Social Strata help forum.

I see there are 2 Search options shown. The one shown above Add Reply is a simple search option and searches on the words entered. It does not search for a phrase containing those words and if you use quote marks to signify a phrase as in Google, I get an error page about a page not found.

The other Search option is the Advanced Option shown under Search in the menu at the top. This is intended to work rather like the Advanced Search in Google and is where you can search for the exact phrase. There are other options such as selecting posts made by a specified user and date posted parameters.

But searching on exact phrases is buggy. For instance if I search for Audrey Hepburn I get no results, so I know there are lots of posts with her mentioned. They obviously have a problem with her as if I search on just Audrey, sometimes I get 10 results, sometimes I get a full page's worth - 50 posts. But I know there are over 50 posts with Audrey mentioned and there should be a Next appearing at the bottom of the page, but it doesn't appear. On the other hand if I search on Fred, I do see the Next appear.

These are the bugs I've reported, but it will be useful to know what others find.
This is a link to the thread I have created on the Social Strata pages for others to use to report bugs found.

You may (or may not) be surprised to learn that they were not!
Incidentally I happened to notice in one thread that Rawky claims you made a pass at him.
There were also a lot of names of people who were, then, regular posters, but who have since drifted.

you still can't search for members posts. .all you get is topics they started not posts within a thread.. and you get a zero return if they didn't start a topic. .

I used to like the Eve Community 'view members posts' thing.. helped me remember where I'd posted if there was a gap since I last checked and had forgotten where I was..

I've noticed this as well - it seems to have changed in the last hour or so, so I have added this to the bugs I've reported.

I think there may have been a temporary bug, as I have been able to get a long list of posts you have made. What I did was to use the Advanced Search option, selected you under Choose Member Name, and made sure that the Include Replies was set to Yes. As you have to search on a word, I have found that if you just enter the letter e that it will produce a list of all the posts you made provided that somewhere in the post you used the letter e, which is fairly likely.

It would make sense to also set the Order By option to Date rather than Relevance as then you get the most recent posts first.

ah right  I searched in the advanced section using the 'word not included in a post' bit. .I used 'fart' cos I knew I never used that and it must be a coincidence that all I got were the very few threads I had started and no posts

I shall use the 'e' option if I ever need to do it again

I did some more testing of this search facility following your comment about only seeing threads which you had started and not replies. And I found that your discovery tied in with my earlier posting about odd results when searching on Audrey Hepburn.

What I found was that there is a bug with the search facility. Sometimes the results show only topics which is what you found, sometimes the replies are also included, which was the case with my post on searching for posts by someone.

So I told Seattle about this yesterday evening. They wouldn't be working on this over the weekend, but they did confirm that there is a bug.

So once this is sorted out, you should be able to search for replies by a user as you had wanted to.

*Hands Brisket bungee ropes*Ooooh Brisket mind you don't get bopped for resurrecting an old thread.
It was me who resurrected it, seeing as I discovered a thread about me, which I hadn't seen and therefore hadn't replied to!

brisket just did a strip search on me.
