Me too. I know the format is correct, but it is not displaying. Could be that the site that the image is from is not compatible with the browser we're using. By the way some of us are not getting an option to upload a custom avatar.
Got the custom avater option now.
Am able to get an image from a site I used before, therefore I reckon it was just that that other image we were trying is not compatible with our browsers.
