No! Aww Terry... we will miss you. A wonderfully charming and witty man both on radio and tv.
RIP xx
Just heard on the radio... they played his 'leaving' speech from the Breakfast show - I got quite emotional. Not a huge fan, but he was a legend. I had a feeling there was something seriously wrong with him when he never returned to his Sunday show after dipping out of Children in Need last year. RIP, Tel
I was never really a fan, found him rather twee and rambling,a different generation I suppose.RIP.
He used to annoy me somewhat but I liked the Children in Need Appeal shows he did
RIP Sir T
Strange week! Paul Kantner (I have all of their gramophone records) Frank Finley and now the togmeister himself.
He made Eurovision watchable due to his total lack of respect and mockery. Our favourite anecdote is about the Norwegian who dissatisfied with Tony's attitude called him a very rude word which I can't repeat on a family forum such as this one.
Loved his R2 morning show especially Janet and John. Google it if you haven't heard it.
I'm with Joe
RIP to The Togmeister and thanks for making me cry with laughter on he way to work at the Janet and John stories!!
Very witty, clever man and his radio show was a joy. Our kitchen would echo to the sound of me chortling at one of his more risque jokes and the Janet and John tales are definitely worth a listen.
Farewell, Togmeister
That awful disease. It's taking so many good people
RIP Tezza
Very , very sad news I loved his gentle sense of humour ....not smutty , like so many of today's comedians ! I used to love Wake up with Wogan . He seemed a lovely man . RIP
Not a hint of smut Baz! Especially when he was reading the Janet and John material!!

Yes, but it was innuendo ....not out and out filth
Grew up with Wogan
He was like the happy, daft, self deprecating, charming uncle I never had.
One of the few you would count as your, TV, family.
A sad, sad day ... gone too soon

Yep, he never took himself seriously....I liked that about him
RIP Terry Wogan
He was literally Mr BBC during the 1980's - Wogan, Blankety Blank, Eurovision, Children in need, radio show...

I think that's what struck me most while watching the tributes to him today - the sheer range of stuff he's been involved in meant that although you may not like everything he did, there was a good chance there was something you would like. For example I never listened to that much radio, and I could take or leave his chat shows. However I loved Blankety Blank, I probably wouldn't even have bothered watching Eurovision in the later years if it hadn't been for Terry, and I admired his work for Children in Need.
Oh, and he could also do this:
Sad news. R.I.P Terry.

I have to say, how much i respect the family for keeping his illness quiet. Cant have been easy these days.
He did wonderful work for Children In Need, i know many who have benefited from it. He not only fronted the yearly show, he did actually visit places where the money had gone and took a great interest.
