There's quite a lot of truff in that 'too cold for snow' thing!  In the UK anyway.  It's to do with local weather types I think.

I like snow to fall on Christmas day then disappear the day after

No, I'm sure everyone has heard that. It is, or was, commonly heard.

The truth? Snow only forms when water freezes at a slowish speed. The lower the temperature, the faster it freezes - thus no snow - thus it's too cold for snow.

We won't be able to visit the in-laws if it snows.

Today was only our third frost of this winter. So far the temperature has not fallen below +1C. Why's it so warm?

We have had  freezing fog all day. When my darling wife, whose name escapes me, and I returned from our bike ride we were frosted up.

According to that metcheck it's actually 0C just now and will fall to -1C on Saturday night, but will be above freezing the rest of the week and will be dry and sunny in the main part. I am going to have to break out the suntan lotion again.

Could we please not have snow until after next weekend? I have to drive up to my daughter's that weekend and back, and I'd rather not have the inconvenience of snow when I'm driving. Thank you kindly, muchly.

I love looking out my kichen window surrounded by hills it is beautiful when it is snowing,but I dont like wading through it when it goes all dirty and slushy and icy

Quite a heavy frost last night. It's still lying in most places. Brrrrr........!

Mr Fluffy Thing's just come in bemoaning the fact that there's fog in Motherwell....apparently Celtic (the team he supports) is supposed to be playing Motherwell AT Motherwell....and he's worried the fog will mess up (or even cancel ) the game.

it is bright but absolutly freezing in southampton. i had to stick my head under the covers last night because i woke up freezing.

Freezing fog in my part of Scotland.

Bloody cold here in the Midlands, but thankfully the freezing fog has gone.  Don't like my hubby driving in that at all or the snow.
