I HATE it....I hate hate hate people calling me for no reason other than a 'chat'.

If you call me make it for a reason...a very brief reason and then hang up and let us go about our business.

I get dead twitchy in a 'Yes, what do you want?? What was the actual reason you phoned me' way. I DONT DO PHONE WITTERING.

I dont answer the phone often either - drives my kids spare. 'If its important they'll leave a message' CHILL OUT!! Its not the boss.

Ooooooh blimey, I could rant so much longer about this but I'm boring meself.

Tell me I'm not alone please (not in the boring myself thing - the phone thing)

We don't have a signal for our mobile phone where we live, so its just kept for emergencies when we're on the road.

The landline is caller display so unless we know who it is when it rings, or if we are expecting a call from a number that is with-held we just don't answer it.

oooo a phone rant......

i don't mind a chat on the phone......but i hate ppl ringing when i'm watching something.....they know i like a particular programme.....and they still call for a 'chat'.....

my big big dislike is some poxy debt management company.....who've rung me about 30 times in the past 2 weeks...i've told them i'm not interested....slammed the phone down....allsorts...

culminating on thursday when they called. in me screeching....'fcuk off'

they haven't called since.....

I look on those calls as an intrusion of privacy and don't get me started on mobiles, I have one for emergencies and a £10 top up will last me months

I had a mate would call me for a 'what you doing' chat.....I'd list all the stuff I had to do that day and she'd STILL try and talk blah at me. **** OFF I'M BUSY - EVEN IF I AM BUSY DOING NOTHING DONT ASSUME I WANT TO SPEND THAT TIME HOLDING A RECEIVER TO MY EAR LISTENING TO NOTHINGNESS!!!

We arent friends now....she said (and this'll make you laugh) why dont you ever call me, why is it always me that has to make the effort.

I don't mind calls from drunked peoples, or from mates for a chat, or even me mum, what flippin does get on my nerves is market fricken research, if i want to give my opinion on buggering washing powder or whatever I will do it, not have flippin idiots trying to ask me questions on products I don't want, and then selling that information to people to try and sell me stuff i will never buy (although they can't as my phone doesn't accept withheld numbers).

You can't even get rid of them by using TPS because they are directly selling they are exempt.

I hate those "are you the home owner" calls!

They never say who the hell they are but just launch into their spiel,while you're trying to figure out what they want. cheeky sods.
I get at least 6 calls a week and am sick of them. You'd think that after telling them to F off and slamming the phone down on them umpteen times they'd get the message that I'M NOT INTERESTED!
but apart from that i love getting calls from friends and family... cept when i'm the middle of making dinner or having a shower or watching the Apprentice.

TBH Yogi, I think I was better about answering it when my first was a baby....glad of adult contact and all that. But I have too much to do now and too little time - I cant be doing with dropping everything because someone else has time to waste.

Actually thats the beauty of forums. I can log in at my lesiure and reply to what I want when I want. Or reply later and just quote the post I'm answering. Theres no ringing noise saying REPLY NOW ANSWER ME NOW.

I never answer the phone if I'm watching one of my fave programmes.

If I'm caught out by cold callers trying to sell something I say hang on a minute I'll turn the oven down, walk away from the phone and don't go back to it till I know they've given up and gone lol.

Eeek./...I must have ignored the email from the 02 telling me about it...i only checked green day website a week or so ago about forthcoming tour dates...I never realised they'd been announced so the answer is NO...
