Oh dear, I didn't think that actually happened. Maybe you have swine flu and this is a new symptom.
Side effect of having kids I'm afraid

A big part of this is to do something like this to be in control and a way of doing something crazy for me if you see what I mean. But I'll think it through first
Try the henna. If I had got that tribal band I'd be in getting it removed about now. If you wanna do something crazy get a piercing. If you don't like it take it out and the hole will close up

Thats what I was going to suggest Cags... a peircing can always be removed if you dont like it in a couple of years. Impulse and rebellion/being crazy type tattoos are often the ones that people regret having.
Also Darnell, its worth remembering that if you do have it done on your wrist its somewhere that everyone can see. A lot of people have negative reactions to tattoos and judge you, so you'd need to be prepared for that

I have a tattoo of a 13th century style angel on my left shoulder and I absolutely love it. I didn't want some bog standard copy of a tattoo that you could find on any tattooist walls in their studio but eventually found a picture in an old art book.
I also have a butterfly on my right ankle and I've been thinking about getting one done on my foot for ages
That sounds lovely *the-blusher* Not that I'd know, but I imagine the foot wouldn't hurt so much, always a good thing

No hun, the foot will hurt more than my other two but hey ho
I hope you find something you really like, but like others here have suggested make it something you really like - forever is a long time

Oh there ya go then Oh well if you like it I'm sure it's well worth it
Aww thanks Definitely, still going to give it a lot of thought, look around to see what I like before I even decide, I am going crazy at mo trying to decide Did your others hurt? Trouble with me is I can be a wimp and have quite thin skin But I guess it's worth it if I decide I really want it done.

They didn't hurt too much at all really, though the one on the ankle was more uncomfortable. I quite like the pain though, it's addictive

The advice I was given was to get one where I don't see it everyday. So I have a small bumble bee on my right shoulder blade.
My family found out about it when I was standing at the alter being bridesmaid to my brother & his wife.. I could hear whispers of "when did she get THAT done"
Did hurt, but not that much (only when it went over bone).
I have had to have the colours touched up.. as it seemed to lose pigment.
I don't really want my daughter to have one, well, I don;t mind her having one, as long as it is small, and discreet.
Hey DPT Good advice Sure you appreciate it more then
Aww That's cool
How old is your daughter? I was really surprised, my Mum's not keen on them yet she was pretty cool about it, but then I'm 19 so guess she's just respecting that I'm old enough to make my own decision. But yeah, that's what I'm keen on something discreet enough not to be off putting, yet noticeable a little

My daughter is 16. I let her have her belly button pierced at 15, as a compromise to only having one extra ear piercing.
And, kinda on the condition she didn't have a lip, or brow piercing.
Re: tattoos.... my only objection would be not wanting her to regret it.
What are now called tramp stamps weren't always seen as such. Before they became v v popular they looked quite nice... its just as everyone got them, they got a reputation for being "common".
So yeah.. you're doing the right thing, as in you are looking into it. I was 21 when I got mine. And I rarely see it, so I don't think about it much. Also, its easily covered up if needed for work etc.
Oh, one thing... I still hadn't decided what I wanted when i got to the tattooist.. I had thought dragonfly.. it was the tattooist who after talking it through suggested a bee (which I think works better)
So... make sure you get a really good tattooist... do your research xx

Ok... the tattooist is probably the most important decision of all.
For hygiene reasons, and for artistic ability.
In the town I live there was really only one bloke... everyone had heard of him... and he appeared at tatoo conventions.
My advice, if you do decide to go ahead, would be to google the life out of any of the names of tatooists you see.
Also find out where your local conventions are, and when... you don;t have to go to one... but it is handy to see who is exhibiting at them.

A good tattooist will be happy to have an appt with you before you make the appt to have it done, to chat to you about it.
A good tattooist 'gets' that it is a BIG decision.

You're very welcome D2W.
Google is very much your friend, and I am sure there will be associations and stuff.
There is nothing worse than a crap tattoo!

That sounds lovely TiGi You're very brave, I have never considered anything like this before so has really taken me by surprise as to why I'm keen now. That sounds good about it not hurting too much What did you get done on your wrist, if don't mind me being nosy? Yeah you go for it
