Oh dear, I didn't think that actually happened. Maybe you have swine flu and this is a new symptom.

Side effect of having kids I'm afraid Big Grin

Then why is my mum still crazy?

Coz your older. Mine are still young so I'm hoping in about 9 years I'll be crazy again Big Grin

Try the henna. If I had got that tribal band I'd be in getting it removed about now. If you wanna do something crazy get a piercing. If you don't like it take it out and the hole will close up Wink

Thats what I was going to suggest Cags... a peircing can always be removed if you dont like it in a couple of years. Impulse and rebellion/being crazy type tattoos are often the ones that people regret having.

Also Darnell, its worth remembering that if you do have it done on your wrist its somewhere that everyone can see. A lot of people have negative reactions to tattoos and judge you, so you'd need to be prepared for that Wink

Thanks for that Saz Thumbs Up Valentine That's what I was thinking about the wrist thing, esp as I'm at the stage where I'm looking for a full time job, so if I did get one there it would have to be discreet. Will have to see, am deffo gonna think it over before doing anything drastic!! Big Grin

I have a tattoo of a 13th century style angel on my left shoulder and I absolutely love it. I didn't want some bog standard copy of a tattoo that you could find on any tattooist walls in their studio but eventually found a picture in an old art book.

I also have a butterfly on my right ankle and I've been thinking about getting one done on my foot for ages Smiler

The advice I was given was to get one where I don't see it everyday. So I have a small bumble bee on my right shoulder blade.

My family found out about it when I was standing at the alter being bridesmaid to my brother & his wife.. I could hear whispers of "when did she get THAT done"

Did hurt, but not that much (only when it went over bone).

I have had to have the colours touched up.. as it seemed to lose pigment.

I don't really want my daughter to have one, well, I don;t mind her having one, as long as it is small, and discreet.

They didn't hurt too much at all really, though the one on the ankle was more uncomfortable. I quite like the pain though, it's addictive Ninja

Hey DPT Wave Hug Good advice Thumbs Up Sure you appreciate it more then Big Grin

Aww Laugh That's cool Thumbs Up
How old is your daughter? I was really surprised, my Mum's not keen on them yet she was pretty cool about it, but then I'm 19 so guess she's just respecting that I'm old enough to make my own decision. But yeah, that's what I'm keen on something discreet enough not to be off putting, yet noticeable a little Smiler

My daughter is 16. I let her have her belly button pierced at 15, as a compromise to only having one extra ear piercing.

And, kinda on the condition she didn't have a lip, or brow piercing.

Re: tattoos.... my only objection would be not wanting her to regret it.

What are now called tramp stamps weren't always seen as such. Before they became v v popular they looked quite nice... its just as everyone got them, they got a reputation for being "common".

So yeah.. you're doing the right thing, as in you are looking into it. I was 21 when I got mine. And I rarely see it, so I don't think about it much. Also, its easily covered up if needed for work etc.

Big Grin

Oh, one thing... I still hadn't decided what I wanted when i got to the tattooist.. I had thought dragonfly.. it was the tattooist who after talking it through suggested a bee (which I think works better)

So... make sure you get a really good tattooist... do your research xx

Thanks for that DPT Thumbs Up Belly button always looks nice, altho for me I never show off my stomach as my body is always so pale Laugh Only piercings I have are my ears.

Oh yes, am quite relieved I wasn't thinking of them when those were so popular lol. 21's a nice age Thumbs Up Thats the good thing as well, as I'm looking for a full time job now it does need to be discreet. That's good to know, I am totally indecisive at the mo (that is if I even go for it! Big Grin) was the tattooist you had nice?
Am going to look at a few different places, research sounds good, am gonna try and think it through as much as I can Thumbs Up

Ok... the tattooist is probably the most important decision of all.

For hygiene reasons, and for artistic ability.

In the town I live there was really only one bloke... everyone had heard of him... and he appeared at tatoo conventions.

My advice, if you do decide to go ahead, would be to google the life out of any of the names of tatooists you see.

Also find out where your local conventions are, and when... you don;t have to go to one... but it is handy to see who is exhibiting at them.

Laugh) But a girl who lives locally had a lion done, might ask her and look around, goggling useful also Thumbs Up Thanks for all your help and advice, much appreciated Hug

It's 3 stars, two little footprints and the name of my Son, it's basically a memorial tattoo. Also my Brother designed it which makes it more personal
I kinda got the idea when watchin Miami Ink.
