I went on his Popmaster quiz once
I beat some golfing bloke who did this long speech about letting down his golf club, his wife, the dog, next door's hamster and generally the whole human race... 
I had to name 3 Duran Duran hits in 10 secs. Easy peasy.
Got recalled for the Champion of champions quiz. Not so easy peasy (out 2nd round).
BTW, my prize was a solar radio..........
I like a bit of 'shite entertainment', as well as the heavier stuff.
Something like BFGW can count as both, in my book. We are actually learning about different cultures, surely? Some may call me an Anthropologist Apologist! 
In fact, I'd say that I know a lot about different topics, by virtue of watching TV! 
In short, I like the high-brow and the brow-raising kind f shows.

Am I the only one who expresses surprise at people who have their tellybox on from morning to night? They may not even be watching it but it exists as some sort of background noise.
Just 'cos our lercal HQ high street hotel is one in a minority that doesn't discriminate with 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' folk doesn't mean that's how it is elsewhere..and in our other HQ, guess they'll take whatever trade they can get ?

I think I was referring more to Jeremy Kyle clientile. My son had us watch it for the first time last week and it seemed very much a mirror of your original HQ High Street, more so than the current one like.
