Well the clothes are pot luck Baz....we have some lovely clothes still with their shop tags on..
I was hankering for thoughts on the entertainment, nibble music?
I have in my mind how I would like it to go but am nowhere near a fashion/social butterfly like some of those on here!

I'm sure you will do a grand job ..... Nibbles should be simple ones I think l...stuff that's easy to walk around with....crisps, something on sticks , etc. 

We have a local DJ to do the music...background, catwalk & after..

and have stated 'Nibbles with a brew'
cos we are in a (non practising) church we are not able to supply Alcohol..so have stated if a brew won't do 'bring your own' ??

If it's not themed then just vary the music .I wouldn't want loud club music more pop , old greats. Everyone can bring a bottle and you just need to supply nibbles. Crisps, nuts, a few sandwiches or small sausage roll.(for a charge)

Have you tried a pregnancy swishing night? It's very 'in' these days

the music maybe above average but will be in keeping with the night....we have Nuns living next door 
With this being the first I want it to appeal to as many different folk as poss...
All being well if it is a success I would hope for it to be a monthly affair with a theme to each night.....maybe ??

Pregnancy clothes are expensive and have a short shelf life the same with baby clothes, New parents get so many clothes the baby never gets to wear most of them ,so it's cost effective to have a swishing party . 

You could could also have a  swish Party for just kids’ clothing.

It was designed by Augustus Pugin (did the design for the Palace of Westminster)...quite Gothic
he ran out of money ..hence no steeple..although there is a stairwell leading up to one 
We have our shop in the 'Lady Chapel' next door...windows to die for

It's for a worthy cause so I tend to think that that in itself should bring plenty of goodwill along in numbers.  I'm not sure that you need to do any more than you've already stated: people's expectations should be more based on what they can do for the charity rather than what the charity/event can do for them.  Any bargains to be had should be the icing on the cake.  A bit of mood music, a pleasant atmosphere and the odd nibble sounds spot on...all you need is a bunch of friendly faces to fill the place.

he did the Catholic Cathedral here in Birmingham and one of the local Catholic Churches as well - he's well famous for his churches
