I was really touched on Thursday, a friend who is ill atm gave me a present as a thank you for taking her little girl to school and picking her up a few times, the tag she wrote on it is lovely. She's having OP on 2nd Jan (didn't want it before Christmas cos of said daughter and Christmas) and the fact she thought to get me something with all that going on i find really sweet.

Jen-Star

That's nice Jen

I had a lovely present today from a friend who doesn't have much money to spare. She gave me flowers early on in the year which she had cut from her garden ... I absolutely loved them (can't remember what they are called).

She turned up tonight with four plants of them, which she had dug from her garden.

Didn't cost her anything, but it was a lovely thought and I very much appreciate them

Wow! That's brilliant. Shows she does really care

I want to write a Blizzie type comment about hoping he comes in the right size, or words to that effect.

But it didn't sound funny in my head - although it would if Blizz  had written it

It's making me laugh, Rexi but I really am not at liberty to explain further

and, and ... any ideas??

one is soft like a scarf, there's a litre bottle of vodka or some other spirits, something rattles so I think it's a necklace or bracelet, something from the body shop, perfume x 2 and I've no idea what my sister got me coz she wraps it in other boxes and tapes all the corners shut coz she's the one who taught me how to peek with ripping too much when we were kids   I've a few more to collect tomorrow but I will probably not peek at those so that I have a few surprises.

all you shakers, pokers and rippers think shame on yourself (especially you cosi.. if you rip him too much you'll never patch him up properly!)   I'm an  with prezzies... I'm scared to touch them in case they tear or open or shake.  I hate knowing what I'm getting!    it helps that I have very  few here in my own house - Christmas is at my sis's so she has all of mine from the family there (she's like a Christmas post office) so we all have Chrimbo bags to open.  I've only a  couple of friends' ones here and I'm ignoring them.

I do.... but then I have to pick it up again.   anyway... my contribution to Chrimbo dinner is a meat loaf/stuffing type affair - it's ready, prezzies are all wrapped (apart from two pairs of jammies my sis picked up for me in town the other day) and I've coloured my hair.   I think I'm done.

That was a productive day  Delivered all the presents, did the mother in laws shopping for her seeing as we were going to those particular shops anyway, got my food shopping and a few more pressies for the kids, picked out a nice handbag for my OH to buy me and all this without stepping foot in town

Went to one shop, got most of the groceries and then said to my OH that we had to go into Costcutters on the way home for ham and cheese and a few snacks.  The evils he gave me at the till when it all came to ÂĢ90  Still....we're all done now so to him!

At Morrison's today first off had to wait for a parking space ......had to hunt down a trolley and the queues at the checkout went the whole length of the aisles (over an hour in the queue). I usually sail round Morrison's with my Christmas shop (never known it like this before). It was all very good humoured though and I had my boy and his partner with me .................they are the very best packers in the world 10/10.

I may go to town tomorrow - I have a feeling everyone's been out today I would like a quick whiz round M&S and also possibly Sainsbury's.....................however I've really got everything that I need.

Erin, it simulates a sunrise it lights the room over a 20-30 min period, so you wake more naturally than having to flick a switch! I had a great app on the iPad that did it and it worked well, but it hasn't worked since the ios6 update, and they've not released an update either. I'm awful in the dark mornings, I hate leaving my bed!
