I thought she was very good in the 1st audition but her 2nd wasn't so good and all this hip gyrating and trying to be funny just makes me hide my face in my fingers cringing.

Yes if she'd been a pretty thing it would be different...

I think all the hype was before the likes of Diversity and Flawless and Shaun Smith did their thing...

I doubt she'll win after all this hype now which I am not fussed about.

I'd like Diversity to win Thumbs Up

No I don't think she is over-rated at all, and she has a startling talent that should have been discovered years ago. To be honest, I didn't think it would take long for the negativity and 'hating' to begin. What is it with people in this country, that they can't bear people to be successful without knocking them down?

I think she could be slightly irritating (to some,) for her occasional wackiness and her supposed 'odd behaviour' but this is simply part of her. Maybe she would find you - or me - annoying.. not everyone is going to be the same, and fit into that perfect little slot of how you think people 'should' be...

Watch this; a video of her from a karaoke in a working men's club from about 25 years ago, and tell me she is over-rated! No way is she..! A bit eccentric: yes, extremely hyped and over-exposed: yes (although this is NOT her fault,) but over-rated and not particularly talented, no WAY!

The only question I'd ask is 'why on earth has it taken so long to discover this amazingly talented woman?'

Another thing is, if it IS true that she has some kind of 'deficiency' or she is 'slow' (although I have not heard that myself; ) at least she hasn't played on any of it, and told anyone about it, simply to win votes or sympathy; like some people on there have in the past..

Hang on, I never said I hated her, I just don't think she's as good as a lot of people are making her out to be. In my opinion that Shaun lad has a brilliant voice and he deserves to win it more than she does. When he sang the first time I was blown away by his voice and maturity.

No I never said that you said you hated her poolshark, just that I think it's sad that people are knocking her, when she does not deserve it at all. There seems to be some negativity on this board (and others,) for the woman, when she has done absolutely nothing to deserve it, and is not responsible for all the hype. And I call them 'haters' coz of the negativity they have towards her. I think the negativity and spite is unnecessary. JMHO.

it's hardly her fault the world's gone crazy over her......all she did was turn up at an audition and sing......what's happened after that is not of her making..

Well said Spongebob. Good post.. Clapping

I agree with your comments about Shaun AND Susan. Thumbs Up

Well I don't think she's the most talented in that competition. I missed the first outing she had on 'talent' and didn't utube her either.

When I saw her singing 'memories' on the semi final show I actually thought she had a nice voice, if a bit pitchy in places. From what I've seen so far she isn't the run away winner.

Anyway, I can't get too excited about it. They've clearly fixed each of the semi finals so that their favourites go through anyway. They should have drawn them out of hats for the order of semi finals, but you see the same mix each time and know straight away who is going through before they've even done their acts. Why bother with the public vote?

Oh and one more thing, the last act has a huge advantage as the phone lines open while they are still on stage, and before the judges wax lyrical about how fantastic they are (Susan Boyle and Flawless). The other names scroll across but, would you remember which act each of the names belong to without a visual clue? I don't.

Anyway, that's my little rant over.

Good luck to all of them - although I think these semi finals are already decided to be honest.

i would of put the other lad through last night......the ventriloquist.......i completely agreed with piers.......it's a variety show.....so far the final consists of 2 dance acts.....2 singers......

the dance acts are great......susan boyle deserved her place......shaun smith i don't think did......i enjoyed the ventriloquist and merlin(the guy who was hanging from the burning rope) more......

the only part of shaun's song i liked was the middle bit where he belted it out.......the rest was like listening to a singer on the end of the pier......

Interesting eh? And what a coincidence that her 'son' is in the final of Britain's Got Talent. Roll Eyes

Or..... it could be that he got through because he has a great voice Nod

I also thought Gareth, the ventriloquist, deserved to be in the final as he was so good in throwing his voice through the dummy, especially as it was a difficult song to do and, as Piers said, 'the Royal Variety Show is just that, a variety show' and all we've got again so far are singers and dancers!!

Merlin. the escapologist, was also original but, heigh-ho, what do I know!!

Susan Boyle does deserve the recognition and certainly deserves her place in the final. It isn't her fault all this hype with the media - they've just picked it up and run with it. If anything, it will go against her in the final.

I wanted Escala to win last year or Signature. Didn't think much of George Sampson at all.

I wanted Merlin to go through last night. Both the singers in it so far this year aren't very good, ok for cabaret but not for much more. The dance acts are brilliant though, and I do hope we get more variety. Susan has been incredibly hyped up and I agree with the point that if she were some pretty blonde thing then she would've been laughed off the stage, not applauded. That Amanda Holden has lost it aswell this year, I can't see her doing another series. gah.

She'll do great (Sus boyle) for all the people who love Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals. I can't stick them personallly but good on her, it's a good story and if she has some quirks then so what? Who cares some people on here aren't 'blown away' she has done enough to get a bit of a career out of Blackburn and make a bit of cash for herself and get some recognition. Well done on her.

Exactly! whether she wins or not,it's been in the papers up here, that she was badly bullied at school etc because she was "slow" .She was shouted at the street too by feral brats, now they all want her autograph.Hope she makes a packet and now has a better life.

I agree as my post above doesn't mean to insinuate she doesn't do well btw, I hope she does. Thumbs Up

I think it was Piers who hit upon her dodgy start, as in bum notes - they did note it but put it down to her being under pressure from her latest exposure or whatever.
