I went once. There was a small crowd of local women who walked amongst the tourists and one of them deliberately sunk her lit cigarette into the back of my arm. My husband knows enough Spanish to express his anger. I felt horrified and exposed. I'm ashamed to say that the tradition of 'Happy Hour' which was a feature of the Benidorm bars, got me through the rest of the holiday!

It felt so at the time too. Still, I do understand that this woman had her own troubles and maybe resented us holiday makers. Why she chose me as I walked quietly along the street with my husband I'll never know.
That was years ago when we were young and child-free with time to meander!
Triggs that's awful. I don't understand how someone could deliberately do something like that to someone they don't know. Some people are just twisted.

It was a weird, slightly eerie, thing to happen but I hope she has since cast off her own demons! Thanks for that Lady P
No probs - I think you're very forgiving though. I honestly don't know how I would react in that situation.
