Particularly the bit about self-censorship. It's something that Chomsky has highlighted and something that we were aware of when I was active politically.
I think people get outraged in this way partly because they feel that they can at least make a tiny bit of a difference when the wider issue is the one that actually offends them.
For example, many white people can't complain about what they perceive as institutional bias against them and unequal application of the multicultural ideals and laws in the wake of Stephen Lawrence but, they can complain about Diane Abbot making racist statements on her Twitter.
GJ, have you looked at a posting I made some time ago about a warning message about IE. If your IE compatability mode is on, turning it off wil get rid of the warning message.
