Am I wrong? I am furious!!!!

My daughter is 30 in Feb and having a party. Hopefully a lot of family are travelling up and I will be full to the rafters. Mr woo's brother has a B&B nearby (it's nice but not exactly luxurious) - I asked him what he would charge if he needed to put some of the family up. He said - I usually charge ÂĢ90 a room but I'll do it for ÂĢ50.

In 25 years he's never, ever paid for fish and chips for him and his family (usually once a week if not more). He was all sort of apologetic and said well .....................it's not me it's L (which I do believe) - she said she's' not going to clean rooms and launder bedding for nothing at all'. Never mind that we actually pay for the fish and potatoes that we have given them for years.

Greedy people!!!

I will simply pack them in a bit tighter and utilise my sons caravan - they'll get nothing from me.

You're quite right, and I'd do the same^^^^, Soozy.

Soozy I'd be really annoyed too! Next time they come into the chip shop charge them and just say the price you pay for it has gone up! ÂĢ10 a room would easily cover L's cleaning products etc if she had to get something for it. Making money off family is a no no in my book anyway but after you have never ever charged them?

I can't understand why they have withdrawn it altogether, it's not like it's going to poison anyone, why not just relabel and let people make their own choices.

Says a lot about what's in a cheap Tesco burger then if it was 29% horse.     Personally - I wouldn't mind eating horse, but I'd mind eating something made somewhere that didn't realise it had put horse meat into something.  What the hell else is going on in that place?

Nope - he said it's the price for a double with beds for two kids put in ..............it's small wonder they're not doing very well!

I hope you charge him a tenner for a bag of chips next time he comes in.

I couldn't charge my family, even if it did cost me.   If i was so scared of 'L' I'd have to say I was full that night and couldn't help rather have the audacity to make money out of it.

Check out the new horseraddish burger at tesco's

When we say horse we mean horse !!!
( j"M"j )

I thought my tesco burger had been
cooked on a george foreman grill turns
out they were marks from the jockeys
whip

Just been to Tesco and bought a bottle of Bacardi, a bottle of Lamb's and some burgers.

So that's white rum, navy rum and Red Rum.

Went into Tesco in Ballymoney for some Horse burgers but they had Nay Mare left:

There's more....but you get the picture.

Thanks for asking Yogi, he said no-one teased him or even mentioned it I was so relieved.  I think I got a bit more upset about it than him in the end at the thought of what was going to happen today

Aww, that's good, Ells.

BTW, I'd have been the same as you, and worried myself sick.

The thing is its not Tesco it's the supplier, Iceland were also found to be selling products containing horse DNA.  Personally horse meat sounds better than horse DNA, which could mean anything! Eek.

i think that's probably the bigger problem the fact that people didn't know it was in there.

Yeah, I know, I think it was the Tesco one that had 29% in it though.  I agree about the DNA... *shudders*

Suzy, write them out a bill for 25 years of fish and chips and tell them that you'll accept it in instalments, first instalment cost of the rooms!  Seriously, my local charges ÂĢ90 for b+b and the rooms are v nice: hand made oak furniture; walk in showers; white company bed linen; molton brown toiletries etc. and I got a better discount than that when I had people staying there for my 50th!

No I really do. I made a sandwich out of them last night and washed it down with a bottle of Marston real ale shandy. Delicious.

So it's going to come as no surprise that I would recommend them to one and all. If you want a butchers (geddit?) link below.

Yay for son baking it too They dont teach cookery at my kids primary (well not proper cooking anyway) My eldest is always desperate to help in the kitchen.

They've only started it as an after school club.  He is really interested in it though and has always wanted to learn how to cook.

We get soda bread everywhere here.  It would have been prefect with some soup

A mighty tasty soda bread  (so glad it was nice coz I would have had to eat it anyway)

I feel so sorry for my dad. He had years of eating all the culinary disasters I brought home from school. He always said they were lovely - now he tells me, he lied!

Yogi my Mum is such a bad cook (sorry Mum) that my Dad loved it when I brought stuff home.  Even if it was rotten it was, at least, a change from what my Mum would give him every day.  She makes the same few dinners over and over again and buys the same groceries every time she does her shopping.  No wonder he's always coming here asking me what I want to get rid of or hinting that he's hungry when I visit just so I'll make him something different.

Ells

I say I can't cook but the truth is I can't bake.  Making anything from scratch is out of my league.  Making a sunday roast, I can do....make fairy buns?  You could sink a ship with them.

Dammit I forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow.  Too late now lol.  (I just remembered that when writing Sunday roast)

At least you try, Ells.

I can bake fairy cakes and sponges but you could use my scones for (very flat) bricks. No matter what I do, they never turn out right. I just buy them from the bakers now.

I can do scones and stuff, I just don't do dinners well. I'm not saying I don't do them, I just don't do them well

If we all combined our efforts, we could put on a lovely spread.
