I really am not a morning person.

^^^^ Yes, I do. Workmen should not arrive before 8a.m., to give you time to get dressed and have a least one cup of tea.

I quite like it

Well old John is happily banging, sawing and whistling away out there. Bless  - at least he's getting on with it. I feel awful as I would try and get a bit of a convo going with him but he's as deaf as a post!

Even 8am is too early for me!  If workmen call before 9am to my house I tell them to go off and have a cuppa or whatever while I get my kids to school and then they can come back. I hate workmen being in my house at any time but before I've even had a chance to get dressed and have a cuppa is way too early.  AND  I need to use the loo before they can come in  I can't go when strangers are around

i know that feeling - one year we were going on holiday with my daughter and her bf. The night before she lent me some of that Johnsons tinted moisturiser - I was a bit reluctant but she said 'Mum ........you really can't go wrong with this stuff'

Believe me - you really can!!

Yep to this - it's four blimmin weeks now - all looking lovely, no longer a bomb site and we are on finishing touches but the plumber told me yesterday that my gas meter is dangerous apparently it wasn't fitted correctly when the house was built. On Monday I am having to have a great big hole in my beautifully re plastered repainted wall knocked through so that he can put it right

One step forward - three back - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Soozy, it was this stuff....

See the bit where it says 'No-streaks bronzer'?   Well it's a dirty rotten lie

Cinds

It was Bruce Springsteen singing Rocky Ground.

This is what they were actually singing:

"We've been travelling over rocky ground, rocky ground"

I wasn't that far off

Not like when I first heard Lady Gaga sing Alejandro, and when she sang

"she's got both hands in her pockets"

I would swear to god she was actually singing

"she's got gold hands and a bucket"

(not forgetting her Ali Bongo tribute)

Meanwhile if John Lennon were still here I'm sure that he would be repeating his, "Man! You get your tan, from standing in the English rain!" mantra.

Garage Joe

Getting prone to angry rants!

Got elderly neighbours next door- wee woman looks like a wee sweet granny but has a real nasty streak.. anyways, generally I just kind of smile and wave and let her get on with it, but had to go and have a word today. Long story , but they're putting up a humungous shed right up at my fence ( fair dos ) and wanted to cut back some overhanging bits from trees and shrubs in my garden . got that done for them up to the fence on their side, but they wanted a bit more cut back . Specifically told them I didn't want them to cut back into my garden , but anything that might stray over to their side was fair game and could be cut back to the fence,  There's a philadelphus bush  ( my dad planted that for me when I moved here )and I  said to both them and the guy that's doing their shed please be careful with that . Home from a long weekend away and noticed the philadelphus was a bit.. well.. deid! Went out today to have a look and they've butchered the garden ! They've cleared an area about 3-4 ft into  my side of the fence .. when I moved all the dead bits that someone had cut back and left there's just a huge gap through to theirs . Gutted!

ta Kaffy. She is a right auld git ! Just been out the back , and she's shouting she can't see what I'm talking about .. I'm like, you can see me, standing in a four foot deep gap at the fence, when you couldn't see into my garden before, how can you not?!

There's no reasoning with this woman Joe, went round to try to speak to her and she just yapped right over  me about how great a gardener this guy is and how he would never have cut anything other than overhanging bits etc etc ..

Ouch she sounds fun, i would have got to come and stand next to the damage and tell you that

There's the thing Jen, she was standing right next to it just now saying she can't see what I'm talking about ! No reasoning with her at all, she just keeps yapping over what you're saying .
