Lucky, lucky, lucky girl!

Well I hope you enjoy it Ells.  Their music isn't for the likes of me as I'm a bloke older than I'd like to say and listen to a wide of range of music.  I hope they put on a good entertaining show for you, which I'd imagine they would with lots of pyrotechnics, set pieces and costume changes.  One Direction are for the hear and now, transient and a good night out.

Well I have to admit to knowing too many words to their songs....but mostly because I only listen to chart music.  It's an excuse for a night out with the sister and my favourite niece though so hopefully it'll be fun

One Direction members Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson have responded to suggestions that their new single ripped off another song.
There has been a widespread recognition of the similarities between the opening bars of the boyband's "Live while were young"and punk band The Clash's 1982 classic 'Should I Stay or Should I Go'

Styles has now seemed to suggest that the X Factor-spawned band intentionally borrowed the riff.
Referring to the musical likeness between 'What Makes You Beautiful' and Grease's 'Summer Nights', the 18-year-old explained: "It's a bit like the first single where the opening riff sounds similar to a certain film."
Tomlinson considered the possibility that original riffs are rarely discovered nowadays.
He pondered: "I assume it must be quite difficult to do a unique riff now because there have been so many songs - surely there's only so many riffs you can pull out?"
Styles then added to BBCnews: "It was kind of on purpose though. It's a great riff, so."

me too!! I was driving home and heard it .

She also had to admit she came from a smarter area than she gives the impression of coming from .Her fathers parents were wealthy and gave him money to try and get him to go to Uni but he built a music studio.

In all honesty the Laurel/Marlon situation. She's left Ashley and taken his father and his daughter - would she really take all that baggage into a new relationship? Bit silly IMO.

I haven't watched in years but I do remember that Laurel has been the mother of his daughter for a long time and he was abusing his dad for a while wasn't he?  She probably took them both for their own safety?

I'd let them off for that as it's only a passing resemblance and naturally a lot more insipid.  The rest is, well, boybandy, isn't it?

I recall Elastica pretty much ripping off all of the Stranglers' "No more heroes" for "Waking Up".  Still, the Elastica song was a good song in its own right whereas One Direction, er... not so much!

In my prejudiced opinion, of course.

Slimming world this morning. I am at the same weight as two weeks ago when I was weighed the day before my holiday After a week stuffing myself at an all inclusive followed by a 'good' week at home I'm well chuffed.

This week should be interesting - on Wednesday I'm having a colonoscopy - that means starving myself all day Tuesday and the dreaded purging medicine. When I've had this procedure in the past I've always gone straight to MacDonalds afterwards as I've felt the 'need' to fill up on crap - we'll see what Wednesday brings.

Soozy Woo

Nah Sooz the OH decided to give up so I said I'd do it too because I'm not a heavy smoker anyway (I'd smoke around 5 a day) so I thought it would help him if I wasn't smoking around him.

He's doing well too but he smoked a lot, lot more than me so he's using patches and the inhaler thingy.  Hopefully we can stay off them because (apart from the obvious health benefits) they cost a fortune!

Best of luck though girl, I've had a colonoscopy, it's not pleasant, but on the upside they let you watch the TV.  The programme they show is really shit!

I've had it done twice before (I'm on five yearly checks) I've never been able to watch TV - I watch the procedure on the screen, I know my colon quite intimately

I'm a terrible mother

My 10 year old was playing footy last night and was in goal...he tried to save a shot and the ball hit his hand which, in turn, hit off the post.  He came in crying so we calmed him down, iced it and put a pressure bandage on it.  Today he kept saying it was sore but because it wasn't really swollen and he could move it, I sent him to school and even told him off when he tried to get me to agree to keep him off.

Anyway, we decided to take him to A&E to finally put his mind at rest that there was nothing wrong with it and after a 3 and a half hour wait they said it was fractured   Just a small fracture but still!

I feel really bad that I didn't believe him.

Cinds..!  How very apt

Good luck with that Soozy; Mr C's always ravenous after his too.

Ells   Glad he's ok.

Years ago, I ignored the phone and 3 doorstep callers because I was dying my hair, doing a facial and trying to get myself half ready for a party later that night.

Bit of much needed early prepping during a typically busy day.

When I finally did answer the incessant phone ringing, it was the school telling me that #1 son had broken his collar bone.

Poor sod had sat waiting an hour and a half for me to come and finally get him home
