It just makes me so mad Jen, what this ......... of a government is doing to people. And the thing that makes me more mad is that people voted for it

Oh that's bad, it's all gone too far recently. And then i read somewhere today that the plans in place to save money are costing 1.6Bil to implement (out sourced etc) and wont even save 1Bil in the end! So all these people i keep reading about are suffering for nothing
Crossrail 1, St Giles 0: farewell to one of London's last wild corners
St Giles always felt as if it had slipped through the cracks of the 21st century, a glorious accident amid the West Endâs general primness. The streets east of Charing Cross Road and south of New Oxford Street, slipping into Covent Garden at Shaftesbury Avenue, had an atmosphere that bled into neighbouring districts. The shabby aura of the Victorian music halls, pokey alleyways, late-night bars and seedy venues could be felt along Oxford Street, New Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road, most noticeably in the piratical haunts of Hanway Street. These streets were the West Endâs wild borderland â not quite Soho, not quite Bloomsbury, not quite Covent Garden. In this vacuum, excitement flourished

Interesting post. Although I would never profess to know much about London, there are echos of similar things happening in my city.

The number is the speed at which you play an LP vinyl record.
The other number for a single would be 45 rpm.

I fully sympathise Jen. I'm in the same boat, after a Christmas of scoffing yum yums!
Good luck getting back into healthy ways
I'm on my treadmill now. I'm also going to drink various herbal teas as an alternative to late night suppers.

However it's something she may want to become more familiar with seeing how there has been a massive rise in vinyl sales last year.
Below is a turntable to play the vinyl on Jen - if you already knew this then blame Yogi
