I'm starting weight watchers tomorrow to try the new (well new since I've last been) propoints plan so I hope I can stick to that and I'm going to try to stay off the booze for a while and see if that helps.

I said TRY.

I  read Moonbeams post on here yesterday re her amazing weight loss - well done to you and Soozy, you've both done really well . It inspired me to look at SW online but I couldn't really understand it. I lost weight before on WW (5 st in a year) so these posts have motivated me to go for it again. I have been trying to work out the new points system online but don't fully understand the 'weeklies' but I think it's about 250 points pw from reading the WW forum. Anyhow, I went to the supermarket today and stocked up on WW food. The price of it all!!  Why is it always crappy, unhealthy food on offer and cheap?

I think the points have to either be used on the day or you lose them (you can't save up a few points every day for the weekend) then the weekly points are the ones you can use for your treat stuff.  I haven't went to the WW meeting yet but my mate started and said she's allowed 26 points per day on top of her free food and then 45 (i think) extra weekly points but she is already quite slim so I'd say it might vary from person to person.

Can you go to one meeting to get your books and a sit down with the consultant and see how it all works?

Hi, Ells. I think I am going to go to a meeting just to get the booklets and information that I need. There's a lot more WW products available than when I last used it which is good - wine, sausages, cheese, yogurt. This time should be good fun. Thanks for your info and 'good luck' for when you start

They've changed ww so it is similar to sw now.  Free foods and then a points allowance on top but their free food is sw's superfree.  So I guess, in theory, SW has more options to eat through the day but ww limits their free foods which I suppose is better for over eaters who go over board on sw free food.

That would be me

I'm always asking the OH to punch me in the head when I have a really bad headache but he never takes the opportunity  Have you tried clove oil?  I never bother with that though.....I just skip straight to the strongest painkillers I can find and hope that they make me sleep til I can see a dentist.

I was bored and decided to take the dressing off my stomach and now my stitches hurt.  No idea how because I didn't even touch them!  I need a new dressing now but only have one thats about the size of my face!  Seriously too big.

Ells

Be careful with the clove oil - it can burn your gums and hurt more than toothache.

Hope it gets better soon Cinds.

My Poinsettia is still going great guns since Christmas but the leaves are no longer red. Is it possible to turn them red? I read somewhere about keeping it in the dark - I would google but I want a really simple answer so I'm asking my simple friends.

Soozy Woo

I've got oragel and codeine.  Still no punch in the mouth though.  Selfish pig

Ells it's probably hurting more because you've looked at it, I don't mean that in an awful way, I just remember when I had my c-section and the next day I peeled back the dressing to look at the staples and felt much worse after.

Are you going to see the dentist about it?

Yes.  It's annoying I was only there last month for a check up, and I travel over to the lakes to see my dentist.  (That's how good he is)

Mum used to keep hers under the stairs, so I would say keeping away from light or in the dark would be the way to go.

I ate the rest of the chicken and left the rest.  If my daddy pops in I'll make him eat it.

Ells

I'm so excited about an idea I've had tonight.

It's my parents 50th wedding anniversary end of next month.  They have organised a party, then they fly off around the world.

Anyway, for the night of their party they have organised a bus to take all of their friends and family from the village they live in to the party.  Nice.

Dad used to be a Police Officer, and we have found a guy who owns a 70's style Police car and will take them to the party in the Police car.

The idea I've had is, that the guy in the Police car should wait until everyone is on the bus, and once it's pulled away, then blue light it and take them off the bus and put them in the Police car.

You parent's might freak out but I love the idea!

He's a lovely boy I've known him since he was a kid. He virtually lives here - here every night playing chess or chewing the fat. He's 32 years old and works as a sort of odd jobber - lovely looking boy but sometimes suffers with a kind of agrophobia and can't hold down a regular job or GF. We do have a laugh though as I think he is very popular with some of the 'ladies' in the village  - let's just say - he gets a lot out of his Avon and a bit of pocket money too.

And I really don't see him like that AT ALL - he's like a surrogate son - I see more of him than my own kids.

I've heard of the Anew stuff.

Soozy the bit I've highlighted I read as 'your sons boyfriend', then as I read further I thought oh well he likes both the swings and the roundabouts, fair play.

Actually I should have been clearer - this is No1 sons best friend - No 1 son is straight and a father of two. It's number 2 son that's gay
