So beware anyone that doesn't get washed everyday 

Just coming to rant. So stepdaughter is getting married later this year. We have given her XXXX amount of money towards her wedding. (Basically more than double what we paid for our wedding), her Grandmother on Mums side matched what we gave her.

Anyway, what she has been given is more than enough for a nice wedding, but, she's booked a wedding that costs £3,500 more than she had been given. 

They are skint, there is no way they will ever find the surplus money, I told her this last year (wasn't received well).

So 4 months before the wedding they still haven't got the balance, BUT, she's changed her mind about the dress & bought another. Also booked a holiday because they're stressed about the wedding. 

Is it just me? I'm foaming. Mr C's not that impressed either. 

I should add why I'm foaming is because she'll turn the tears on to Mr C & he is a mush. 

But the new dress, holiday.... Oh yes & the new cars they've bought, I think have tipped him.

Just in case Jen pops by, I've reposted as I know how much she loves it.

Government and the Jobcentre    I've just been sanctioned for a month! 

can you appeal  not everyone has savings if they are out of work - how are you supposed to manage for a month - is it the whole amount or just a part they stop ?

Tried appealing today, they aren't having it. 

Thing is, it's my first offence and a genuine missunderstanding that I didn't turn up for n appointment 

Don't get any money at all and had to borrow off my brother and will apply for hardship fund when I go to the jobcentre tomorrow 

yep - I just googled and it says there is no appeal and it looks like if you can prove hardship it still takes a couple of weeks  and lots of grilling from them
