My best friend used to have one and it hated me!  It would hiss at me and go from sitting on the top of the sofa to flying across the room at me in a second!  It also liked to chose the exact second I was engrossed in something on TV to jump at me and scare the bejesus out of me.

When I was in primary school I went to America to stay with a host family and their relatives had 2 cats.  We'd visit the relatives nearly every weekend and they constantly scratched at me. One scratched me on the face so badly the host family took me to the doctors to get it checked out (it was fine).

And finally.....my Daddy keeps pigeons.  When we were kids we'd go to school through the gate in the back yard.  On more than one occasion we'd find either a pigeon in the process of being ripped to shreds by a cat or the finished product.

The one in my back garden doesn't come near the house so I don't chase it away.  He can live out there if he wants as long as he keeps the mice away and doesn't come near my house.  I'm just not going out to meet him.

I caught the end of it (I'm pretty sure BBC will repeat or I can iPlayer it).

But yes, I have always liked her and her work - I own all her albums too.

Here is a picture I found on-line.

I watched that, it was very good. Made me want to get all her albums. Theres no-one else like her in music.

Also Wuthering Heights is my favourite book - love the way she captured the dark and supernatural atmosphere of it in the song.

I thought I was going completely insane just now.  I could smell cigarette smoke when I was sat in the living room.  Ran like the wind (well, waddled like a hippo more like at this stage......but I was faster than I usually am) to my eldest's room just in case it was him.  It wasn't (he's lucky!) and came back to the living room and it kept getting stronger and stronger.  Really creeped me out but then I noticed the living room window was still open, went to close it and notice the next door neighbours ashtray on the side of their wee raised porch thing (decking on stilts thing with summer seats.....bit too high up meaning they can easily look into our window).  He must have been smoking and it was coming in though the window lol.

Glad I noticed it now though because baby's crib is coming up this weekend and will be just below that window!  I'll have to open the window on the other side only.

Looking at these delightful photographs, a thought crossed my mind - can one actually eat rose petals?
