I came home from work yesterday to find the council had dug a section of the road up to resurface.

I thought......that's funny, no notice given   I got in the front door to find a notice on the doormat saying.....on Thursday 31st May we will be digging your road up, please move your car (words to that effect). Stable door....horse bolted?

Local radio were saying last week though that we should enter Eurovision in our own right.. have the Proclaimers and Calvin Harris collaborating on a song.   Sounded like a right good plan to me.

And to me Kaffy. What a team they`d make.

I`m not keen on Paulo but that`s not got anything to do with him why I`m against him being chosen. I would have felt the same if it had been anyone else other than The Proclaimers. Brilliant, rousing songs with a Scottish flavour... that everyone can sing along to. Perfect. They would have brought the hoose doon.

I haven`t, what`s happening Fluffy one?

Just a small difference, before when you clicked on a 'Recent Topic' you were taken to the start of the thread, now when you click on one you are taken to the last post in that thread.

Yep - the Proclaimers sort of epitomise Scotland - they really stir up a good old sing along sort of stuff!

Exactly, Soozy!  I`m sooo disappointed, I keep going on about it. Even although he agrees, son No. 2 is now telling me to put a sock in it.

tbf - the stereophonics don't exactly scream 'Wales' to me either, not Duran Duran, 'England'    I do think of Ireland when I hear Snow Patrol, but they're not exactly Riverdance (thankfully)       Scottish Italian chip shops are very Scottish though.

Now see - I do think of Wales re Sterephonics but really don't see Ireland for Snow Patrol (I didn't even know they were Irish)

Funny how differently we all see it.

I actually think half of Snow Patrol are Scottish Sooz.. there's a sor of ongoing are they Scottish or Irish thing going on.    I do know the Stereophonics are Welsh and I suppose i think of that - I just don't see them as being 'traditionally' Welsh if you know what I mean - not in the same way as The Proclaimers are so obviously Scottish singing in their own accents etc.  I know what I mean even if I'm not explaining it very well  Same for the English band - to me The Stones or The Who or even Oasis are more 'English' than Duran Duran.

Ha Cinds ... I've had my middle child visit this weekend ... she's a strict vegetarian, which we can deal with easily (thank Gawd for Quorn), but this weekend she announces that shes going vegan. My response?

That's fine whilst you live with your arty farty friends in London luv, but when you come home in the summer you eat what you're given or you buy your own.

She thinks she might put off being vegan till she goes back to uni in September
