Stay at home, have cake and tea for supper and then send the kid something only useful for a kid (not money or clothes, just toys) so they can't profit from it.

Aaaaand this conversation has made me realise I haven't ordered a cake for my sons party on Sunday.  Lots of time, I know, but he wants a Man Utd one so I have to hunt someone out who can make one!

Since I opened them all bank accounts, Ive decided to give them only token gifts and I put money in their accounts, but I'm (until they are 18) the only signatory on their account.

Glad to know that the reason I haven't felt much movement yet is because of the placenta being at the front of my stomach so cushioning the kicks.

Brilliant news Ells. How many weeks are you now?

I'm still loving your pregnant pippompotumus pic xxx

Anyway, we were told we were being selfish for not taking everyone out for dinner. Same dicks that we paid to go out for Christmas lunch and turned up stoned. Grrrrrr

jesus...    I don't know what to say.    So what ARE you going to do?

I will be the nice G'Ma and deliver the cake

F*ck that noise, do what Jen suggests and tell them you've taken up another offer now that you're uninvited to their party - and tell her when and where the cake will be ready to collect from

Make sure it's in a prominent place of the cake though, for when they try to take pics... not like round the back or anything. Take a chunk right out of the front centre

22 weeks now and still not really believing it!  No obvious sign of being pregnant because I was carrying weight anyway.  Now I just look fatter  I need a proper bump so I can think 'oooh yeah, I'm pregnant' and get my arse in gear.

I've been to the docs because of a pain in my leg.  The nurse took blood and then put a HUGE bit of tape over the wee cotton ball.  Had to get OH to remove the tape because it was irritating me and it was so bloody sore!!  How the hell do people get waxed if this is the pain from one strip of sticky tape!!

I'm such a moaning minnie (as you probably already know), I moan about the slightest wee pain but geeeeeez that was uncalled for.  I've never had anything other than my eyebrows waxed.  I put a strip of wax on my leg at home once when I was about 18 and freaked out and couldn't pull it off.  I was in hysterics about how this wax strip was coming off when I was walking past my Dad and he ripped the thing off my leg.  Ow.

A nurse put tape on me and I was I pain! and had to pull it off.

It ends up that I was allergic to the tape .

As for waxing ,doesn't bother me but I always the salon never DIY .

Threading is a different matter ,I have to curl my toes when I have that procedure.

Went to my doctor today with pain behind my right knee which has been there for weeks but has gotten worse this past week. Woke in the night thinking I couldn't breathe but wasn't sure if I actually couldn't breathe or if I was dreaming it as once I sat upright in bed I was fine and when I got my bearings I was breathing fine. The leg had been cramping quite a lot last night so I rang this morning and was seen to. No visible signs of clot, no swelling etc so the doc did a blood test and told me to ring this evening for results.

My sister had a clot in pregnancy last year so I am labelled as high risk.  Rang for the results this evening and was told yes they were high which MIGHT indicate a clot but that the doctor had consulted with obstetrics and they had decided that the result wasn't high enough to worry about so they aren't scanning the leg.

I'm a little worried about it to be honest so I rang the doc back and asked if I could get it scanned but she said there's no scans at A&E until Monday and I should just leave it unless the pain gets worse or there are other symptoms.

Ells go to A&E telling them that the pain is back ,worrying about this will only cause anxiety amd that's not good for your baby ,

I agree.....

I know Erin, I told her I was going to just go to A&E to be scan coz I wasn't happy with waiting around but she said even if I go there this weekend they will not be able to scan me as that section is 9-5 monday to friday only.

I don't want to be over reacting and it might not even be a clot but surely a quick scan would eliminate my worry and, more importantly, be safest for the pregnancy?!

Moonie, what would happen if someone came in urgently at the weekend, surely they have SOME way of scanning but aren't letting on.

Like you said, what if one desperately needed to be done...I just don't understand their attitude

Did they say what 'other symptoms' to keep an eye out for?

Swelling, pain getting worse or very hot to touch where the pain is.  Or generally feeling unwell.  I've rang A&E and they said waiting time at the minute is 4-5 hours, they understand my worry and said to rest the leg and if possible hold off until Monday for the scan as they can't scan this weekend but if there's any increase in pain or even worry then I can come over any time and get a Clexane injection which is what I will have to get if it is a clot.  So I am going to rest the leg now and see how it is tomorrow instead of going to sit for hours at this time of night.

Ells
