I got her in the doctors this morning thinking it was her tonsils and he said no it was throat ulcers (I've never heard of that) and just told her to gargle aspirin she's in agony bless her, I've just googled it and gargling salt water does seem to be the only answer, if she's no better soon I'm going to take her back to the doctors

Aimee Aspirin is some kind of antiseptic as well as an analgesic - I remember my MiL wanting to rub junior aspirin on my kids teeth when they were teething. She did it to one of my boys and he promptly threw up ........................I'm allergic to aspirin and it turns out so is he.

Sounds horrible - do hope she's better soon.

I can't take aspirin either, it doesn't seem to have done anything so far, she's got big yellow blisters on both sides of her throat

Did the doctor put her on anti biotics. I remember one of my boys having something similar to that ......he was really poorly - it took it out of him. Just after we came back from holiday one year. Can she eat ice lollies - I seem to remember B found that quite soothing.

Didn't give her anything, she's been eating ice cream and she managed some mashed potatoes earlier, she's exhausted through lack of sleep as well, I'm hoping she improves soon as she's going back to uni on Sunday
Aimee

Awww poor Little Aimee.

I've had ulcers in the throat, but it was linked to glandular fever, she hasn't got that has she?

Pain in wise, I couldn't swallow anything, so best bet is to buy effervescent pain killers, preferably with codeine in them, then she can drink them and if she's like me the codeine will knock her out.

I really should sharpen up my act a bit ...........I'm losing the plot.

Awwwwwwww - poor Lil Aims

Sorbet might be a soothing option - Soup is always good when you're unwell too. Is she due exams soon? Sometimes stress can lower the immune system.

Good idea about sorbet no exams at the moment, she goes back to uni on Sunday and then she's finished on the 15th of May

Just looked in her throat and there's more ulcers

I understand is one of them is still doing quite well.

and an appearance on Strictly.

One of them (can't remember which one) has a nightly show in an up market Las Vegas lounge bar. My niece went to see him (she had been a mahoosive fan in her youth) - she got to chat to him later and was horribly disillusioned as she said he's an egotistical a*sehole.
