Jen I still have the builders in doing my log burner and front room. As always it's going on and on - they started last Monday too. I do have a lovely chimney stack on the side of the house now ......it really looks lovely. The stove fitter is coming to 'look' at it this afternoon (I WANT IT FITTED NOW -NOT LOOKED AT!). The buliders are currently plastering the ceiling and wall and it's all a big mess.

Never mind - it's worth it when it's all done.

So yours has been going on over a week now Soozy? They didn't start mine last week as planned they came and went and didnt return til Monday just gone... It would be just as the first proper cold snap kicks off wouldn't it

I'm guessing you've got heat Soozy? I hope you do anyway it's cold enough with them leaving doors open all over the place

Yes all my rads are working thank goodness. The front room is a God awful mess though and the lighting situation is a nightmare as we are having all new concealed ceiling lights etc. The electrician starts then goes away to let the builders continue with the plastering etc. I hate sitting in virtual darkness on a night.

I've just gone upstairs to ask if i could remove the pipe hanging out the the back door cos it's freezing and i would like to shut it........... Every carpet is up with floor boards out.... Looks an awful mess and the kids will be back in an hr

Still i have just blocked up the vent in my living room (the old boiler was behind the fire place) and that will make a massive difference i think.

Having a convo with the little one about Christmas and she asked "what would you like Mummy?" to which i replied "Everyone to have a good time" and she looked at me so i said "Everyone enjoying themselves is the best present i could get" and she frowned at and asked "You would like a new sweeping pan and brush yeah?"

Just got news that they are finally fitting the log burner on Tuesday. Time for a bit of decorating over the weekend hopefully. Not sure about the ceiling lights - might have to make do with wall lights and lamps. Wasn't too bad last night TBH.

As for Minime, she comes out with some right ones... She told me the other day she was wearing a 'swansy' to nursery on Friday (the week following children in need) and she also told her teachers that mummy sits at home drinking tea all day watching TV (that's not true btw! I don't even like tea)

My kids ask me what I do all day in a snarky manner......as if I just sit here all day doing nothing.  They don't realise all the cleaning I've to do because they are such dirty little buggers.  Or that their sheets aren't stuck to the bed because I wash them all.  Or that they have food because I do all the shopping and cooking or clothes to wear because I replace all their old stuff regularly.  No.  I sit here on my laptop all day according to them.

Ells... one of my friends said that whenever to older ones say anything like that she lives exactly how they say she does.... literally only doing what they think she does.... apparently they apologise very quickly

I was listening to the nationalgrid digging up the foot path RIGHT OUTSIDE MY HOUSE! There was a gas leak so it had to be done... They knocked the door, I mentioned new boiler, he came in and checked for gas but im fine apparently.
