i just saw that ad for McBusted, am thinking of texting my littlest to see if she wants to go with me

I'm gonna see if my son fancies it .....my girlie might at a push but she has a more refined taste than her old mum. More mature and all that.

I'll go with you sooz, but I want to go to Bournemouth, which might be just a little bit out of your way

Sick of it they may be, but I suspect the entrepreneur was being a tad disingenuous there.

I need a new pair of secateurs so popped into HQ Boyes-sies. The gardening section had mysteriously disappeared. It only took a matter of minutes to find an assistant who then explained that it had been replaced by Christmas fare, and he didn't know where the secateurs were being stored, but there was no call for gardening stuff anyway.
**shakes fist at Christmas**
As if that weren't bad enough a selection of Christmas songs were being broadcast over the tannoy.
Mrs Jer always dives at the radio if Slade and their dreadful Christmas sing are featured. Obviously she couldn't do so in the shop. It put her in a tetchy mood for the rest of the day.

Years ago , Clarins used to do a perfume called Elysium ......it was beautiful but shortly after I 'discovered' it, it was discontinued.

Just thought I'd share that - anyone else remember it.

Mr Woo suffers from insomnia, restless legs and general sleep disorders from time to time. He finds a relaxation tape (don't know which one) really helps. He doesn't listen to it whilst trying to get to sleep but maybe about an hour or two before bed. It sort of puts his head in order when he can't sleep through stress.

I do hope you find something to help.

ION ....I went to see Will Young in Cabaret last night. OMG ........................FAB - YOO - LUS.

I can't stop singing the songs today .....................it is my favourite film - the show is slightly different (a bit more risque and a whole lot darker) but bloomin fantastic.

Pirate   The doctor isn't giving you sleeping tablets because they are so over used by people with depression and then they become too dependent on them  I know this because my best friend was in the same place you are for the past 2 years.  Her wee brother died and she couldn't sleep (she'd get nightmares or think he was in the room with her when she was trying to sleep) and would wake terrified in the night and then too scared to sleep.  The doctor wouldn't give her sleeping tablets so she took to not sleeping at night and catching up on some sleep during the day when she was in the company of other people.  This went on for ages and she was a mess!  She felt like she was going insane but still the doctors wouldn't prescribe the sleeping tablets.

Laying off the drink and taking her anti-depressants help a little but to be honest she's still not quite herself and the sleeping pattern is still not right.

So even though I have offered neither help nor solutions, I posted this just to let you know you aren't alone and this is part of grieving, sadly, and it doesn't go away overnight.  It takes time to come to terms with things and just having someone to talk to is the main thing.....your doctor, your partner, US!!  Anyone who can just listen while you get it off your chest will help.  Also take any help you are offered, there's no shame in telling your doctor you aren't coping and getting all the help you can from them.

Pirate i hope you got a good sleep

All i can say is I've been right where you are and I've eventually come out the other side... It takes time and will always hurt but it does get easier to deal with. It's hard to go through and you feel like you cant do it (so many times) but you will somehow.

Have you looked into bereavement counseling? It might help

Oh crap, have you got heat now?

In a fashion lol

Monday they did the boiler (not the radiators upstairs),,,, Turned the gas back on around 4pm and there was none! There was a fault on the meter... so British gas came out to sort it out that evening

Tuesday... had a guy come to patch up the holes around the pipes etc... then as he was leaving the sparky turned up to do thermostat etc last night (around 6) a guy cam to look at the radiators upstairs and look at my bathroom (which is being refitted over the next few weeks to give me a bath instead of just a broken shower cubicle)

Today the guy from last night came EARLY and has left his apprentice ripping the old rads out etc

So to recap... I've had 3 radiators working downstairs since late Monday and work men coming and going since 1st thing Monday morning

I'm REALLY not looking forward to the bathroom being done!
