Our street is on a slight decline towards one end. (setting the scene there)

A "geet big ugly thing" of a broken down van from next door had sat outside our house for the best part of a year.

One day - all of a sudden "Bang!!"

A car from the end of the street had rolled down the road, no one inside and only stopped cos it smashed into the back of the broken down van.

What a mangled mess but ...

Thank God it was there to stop it, thank God no kids were playing in the street and thank God the van got towed away for scrap

Loved it's soft sprung bouncy nature - ahhh

Is that an estate Saint? I have a soft spot for boxy old estates. Can't remember the make of it but our childhood car was a fawn ford estate and we piled into the back luggage bit with our cousins, the dog etc.

Not a seatbelt in sight and the adults all puffing away on ciggies with the windows closed. Ahh the seventies
