Jen at least she will be getting out afterwards, it's a bloody nightmare having to stay in the hospital with them (when you're actually allowed).  Home is more comforting to them and at least they don't get woke up every 2 hours through the night by the nurses coming in and out!  Hope she recovers quick x

As soon as I caught the ball I knew I would give it to him, I just wish I'd lasted longer winding him up that I was going to sell it

Cinds

Yeah i'm glad she's not having to stay in (as long as she comes round and eats ok) i'm ok about it, it's just so quick!

Ells is this the holiday without the kids? Hope you have a fab time! Not nearly as much sorting out to before hand if it's just you and the fella

Cinds, yeah the head shape too is a give away.

Jen-Star

Aye just the 2 of us for the first time EVER lol.  The kids are fine with it, they know we're only going for 4 days and their granny will look after them well.

You're lucky your hospital is so quick getting things sorted, we waited 6 months for my eldest's adenoidectomy and even then we had to be referred to a hospital further away because it was taking so long.

Ells

So this morning I received a parcel containing this:

At first I thought I was living a polystyrene version of SE7EN.  Then another parcel containing 10kg of modelling clay arrived.  Apparently the husband wants me to make a mould so he can make a silicone one of these.

He doesn't expect much of me does he?

Cinds

Right here's a question for those of you with younger children.  At what age do you stop using a rear facing baby car seat?  You know the sort with the handle that you can lift the baby in and out of the car in.  I saw a child in one today and thought it just looked far too big in it, his head was hanging over the top, and when the Mum got him out he was walking.  Surely he should be in a bigger forward facing seat by now?  Or is it just me?

Cinds

Cinds, I think it depends on the particular seat you buy. Some are suitable for babies up to 9 months but others are suitable for older babies.

However, if the baby's head was above the top of the seat, then he was far too big for it and it wasn't safe.

Btw, I don't have young kids, in case you were wondering - just a granddaughter.

Been making my own Christmas cards and getting very, very carried away. Really enjoying it but some of them are really OTT  - I'm learning that less is sometimes more

Some of them are so ornate and heavily embelished they'd cost an arm and leg to post. Think some will be used as decor in my own home (how sad is that?) I'm learning though and am off to town for more stuff soon - spending a fortune but it is fun.

Anyone else do this?

It better be warm there or I'll throw a tantrum.

Look out for Mr Woo  - he's off to Portugal on Sunday too - flying from Manchester. Off to see his father and have a few rounds of golf.

I'm going to get her address so I can send her one of my more 'dramatic' ones

I know how talented she is .........she'll kill herself laughing at my efforts.

I'm going to pretend to everyone else that my grandson Jack aged 5 was helping and then I'll give a little indulgent shrug and smile.
