Eeek I'm off to Portugal next Sunday and I've nothing done for it so far!  Booked the flights and that's it.  Need to get a move on now and do the rest.

Aye just the 2 of us for the first time EVER lol.  The kids are fine with it, they know we're only going for 4 days and their granny will look after them well.

You're lucky your hospital is so quick getting things sorted, we waited 6 months for my eldest's adenoidectomy and even then we had to be referred to a hospital further away because it was taking so long.

About 5 minutes before they said that we saw a baby sucking on a diamanté encrusted dummy? I even nudged Mr C to look and said to him "that looks safe!!"

I was  watching this last week, they said they love their horses but it didn't look that way and one bloke was pouring fosters down its throat and then said that it was he's 3rd pint that day

At first I thought I was living a polystyrene version of SE7EN.  Then another parcel containing 10kg of modelling clay arrived.  Apparently the husband wants me to make a mould so he can make a silicone one of these.

He doesn't expect much of me does he?

That must be so annoying Aimee.  It's things like this that make me pleased Master C's biological father isn't in his life at all, if he doesn't know him he can't hurt him.

Right here's a question for those of you with younger children.  At what age do you stop using a rear facing baby car seat?  You know the sort with the handle that you can lift the baby in and out of the car in.  I saw a child in one today and thought it just looked far too big in it, his head was hanging over the top, and when the Mum got him out he was walking.  Surely he should be in a bigger forward facing seat by now?  Or is it just me?

Cinds, I think it depends on the particular seat you buy. Some are suitable for babies up to 9 months but others are suitable for older babies.

However, if the baby's head was above the top of the seat, then he was far too big for it and it wasn't safe.

Btw, I don't have young kids, in case you were wondering - just a granddaughter.

Sorry to hear that Aimee   Poor kid that's so unfair on her. Especially after her doing so well academically.

He's on his way now apparently, I wouldn't hold my breath if I was her  he always says I'm on my way and then never turns up 

Very irresponsible of him Aimee.  Good job she's not stood on the street waiting for him.  

He hasn't paid her phone bill either so she's cut off, she doesn't seem that happy at the moment 

Aims, you must want to give him a kick for letting her down so much.

We are used to it now, we don't ask him for anything and the one time you do this is what he does  why say I'll pick you up at 5 on Wednesday and at 9,45pm on the Friday she still isn't back  she's only got till Sunday afternoon now and she does seem very home sick at the moment

Aww, was he meant to be bringing her home from uni? What a toad, letting her down like that!

Yes, I hope he has gone this time,  not heard from her for a bit so she must be on her way

Been making my own Christmas cards and getting very, very carried away. Really enjoying it but some of them are really OTT  - I'm learning that less is sometimes more

Some of them are so ornate and heavily embelished they'd cost an arm and leg to post. Think some will be used as decor in my own home (how sad is that?) I'm learning though and am off to town for more stuff soon - spending a fortune but it is fun.

Anyone else do this?

found an emulsion called Silver Mist for the chimney breast ..but sold out so looking for another pale silvery one I suppose they are really pale grey ,do you think ? must go post for so long and then the coughing kicks in from the cold
