Master Cinds is a handsome lad. I'm glad he enjoyed The Prom once he got there.

Even at the age of 16 and 17 I didn't fancy festivals. But we did enjoy travelling to that London to see one day events in Hyde Park or the Oval. Done and dusted in one day, overnight train home.

Glastonbury/festivals... nah... I did the very first one at Loch Lomond back in the day - loved it, but wouldn't do it again.    My niece did T in the Park after years of wanting to and never quite making it.. came home before the headline act she'd wanted to see because her feet were killing her and you couldn't sit down ANYWHERE because "people just pee wherever they want"    She watched the end on telly

 

and don't know if she's been in this thread, but KATTY!!!  if you're still around, good to see you and how's the 'new' flat?

 

Sky dive is 2 weeks tomorrow, weather permitting.

I'm not for the longer festivals. The thought of not bathing and the nasty nasty portaloos just turn my stomach. We did Storming the Castle one year, but it was close enough to Mothers house that we rode there on a morning to shower

We started off in the Dance Tent on the Friday and never really left (apart from staggering back to base for some kip).  I think I missed Oasis that night.

I was at the kids school at 6:30am this morning!! They are both in London for the day and not back until 10pm+

 

While i'm missing them (a bit) My house is clean... it's been quieter and the 2yr old hasn't had anyone to argue with/wind her up

sons mates just came in-theyre all 14-i couldnt see who was there-i asked 'who's the girl with you' it was the mate who's voice hasnt broke

I feel cheated that master cinds never went through that high pitched/low pitched croaky voice thing. I was sooooo looking forward to the p taking, I feel a bit cheated.

 

But, in all honesty until he was about 14.5 he did sound like a little girl on the phone.

My 32yo still sounds a bit high pitched sometimes, but his son, when teased, comes back with an old man's voice! Did you find the stuff you were looking for on twitter Cinds?

My son is back from his hols. As I suspected - a cracked rib An over enthusiastic pool party - got thrown in the pool and smashed his ribs on his partners head - on the first night

 

I told him I'm not letting him go on holiday next year.

Ribs are a bugger. I remember, a few years ago, riding my bike home from a party where I had a noggin or two, and several cigarettes ( which seemed rather strong) both m'wife and I crashed into a gate on the cycle track. No damage, I thought, until I arose from my bed. Broken ribs, agony, no treatment.

The 7 year old is standing in tears because I won't allow him to sleep in his friends house a few doors up.  I know when I was a kid I was allowed to stay in my best mates house at that age but I really don't trust the other kid.  I know that sounds awful but he's a year older and he's fond of talking about poo, bums and God knows what else.

 

My wee one hates me now and keeps saying 'I thought you were the boss' because I blamed him not being allowed on Daddy saying no way  He's too young though but he just doesn't understand that!
