This a woman that lives round the corner from me that has ovarian cancer and it looks like she's losing her fight tonight  She's 40 and I've been following her story on FB as we share friends and she has told them to share her statuses, the local radio have also been doing a blog for, it's so sad

She went to the doctors when she found a lump the size of a plum near her bikini line, they sent her straight to hospital and after tests she was told she would need an hysterectomy but when they opened her up it had spread to all her organs, they said it was terminal and she had a few months at best but she has managed nearly 2 yrs but it's looking like the end is near tonight

How sad Aimee. 40 is way too young.

Yesterday, we, as in myself, mr c and master c were in a taxi that got rear ended big style. I was jolted badly and was in pain last night as was Mr C. This morning I was ok, but mr c is suffering.

Anyway, the taxi driver has just rang me and said he is putting a claim in for whip lash, and said what are you going to do. I said well both I and the boy are fine but husband is in pain. He said "No, you and your boy are injured, tell them that it's worth money". I said "well neither of us are hurt, so I won't lie, and I certainly won't ask my 15 year old to lie about it, so you better just speak to my husband who is genuinely injured tomorrow."

I feel all cross about it now.  I hate the claim shit.

Aimee, quick is always better.

It was 10 years gone Wednesday since I lost a brother(in law) to a cyst in his pancreas. Very fast, as is in head spoken to someone 10 minutes before he was found dead.

28 years yesterday since my other brother (in law) got killed in a car accident.

When it's my time, fast please. Not for me, but the family left behind.

I know. When Mr C lost his father, we had been to see him at lunch time and he was insisting we got him out of bed because in his words "I want to be a pain", we were telling him he couldn't get up because he was too weak, and he fell asleep, and died 3 hours later.

If you had known Mr C's Dad he would have loved to know his last words were "i want to be a pain".  Cantankerous old git he was.

Holiday was ok.  A bit stressful having my Mum to look after because 1) she forgot her thyroid tablets, 2) she didn't bring enough blood pressure tablets, 3) her feet were so swollen with fluid she could barely walk, 4) she couldn't get up and down off the sun loungers by herself and 5) she slowly drove me mad.

There was a delay on the outgoing flight.  We were supposed to leave at 7am but were told we had to stay on the plane and wouldn't be leaving until 11.15 but luckily got away at 9am when a spot opened up and because the pilot hadn't let us off the plane we were able to snap it up and go on our way.  We had to go the scenic route because of the French strikes so there was an extra hour and a half added to the flight time.

The hotel was nice, kids loved it after the initial bumps with the eldest (grumpy pre-teen who doesn't like change) but it was day 10 before my Mum had fully come round to herself and I could relax.  Food was rotten after the first few days and I spent a small fortune which I'm now regretting as it was just an ok holiday and not worth the money paid.

I had learned years ago never to go away with other people but thought having my Mum there would be good but she just wasn't fit for it.  She said she enjoyed it though so I'm glad she at least thought it was good.

So glad to be back home though even if it is pissing down.  Went to see my very pregnant sister as soon as I got back and am glad the baby didn't arrive while I was away.

Just catching up with internet stuff then off for a very long sleep in my own bed!

Other people love doing it Jen, just not us!  We usually look forward to going on holiday to get away from other peoples problems (sounds horrible saying that but we don't have problems of our own....they all stem from his family or my family!) so taking family away means taking the problems with you sometimes.

And I just kept feeling like we couldn't go out and about so much because my mum couldn't walk far so I'd have to leave her at the hotel then I'd feel bad for leaving her and want to go back which annoyed my OH on days out etc.  By the end I was exhausted trying to keep 5 other people happy and don't think I really enjoyed one whole day of it!

Awwwwww Ells - so sorry to hear that. Maybe in time you'll look back and think that you 'quite enjoyed it'.

A lesson learned none the less - I'll take heed as I often fancy going away with my sister but probably not such a good idea.

ASnd WELCOME HOME - we missed you.

How funny - it was 11 year yesterday that I lost my dearest friend. I still miss her terribly.

Now this is gonna sound very, very odd - especially coming from the biggest cynic and sceptic in the world but - I really have' felt' something recently ........it's like she's trying to contact me.

I know that's really, really cray because if you knew me you'd know that I poo poo all that mumbo jumbo. I told someone a while ago that I didn't believe and that it was all rubbish - I said if it was real I know 100% that my friend would be in touch.

I was told that I was too sceptical and therefore not open enough to be aware of the signs even if they were right in front of my nose.

Anyway ..............we'll see,

No .......................I'm gonna get that on my Kindle right now.

How funny - I was wondering about getting a Judy Finnegan book the other day.

I'm going a bit 'soft' I think - I'm probably the most un spiritual/sceptical person on earth. My friend (like my sister) very different and very into all that stuff.
