Trust you to be worrying about your topiary at a time like that!

Oh my word, did your great-grandmother ever walk properly again?

I have no idea, the old girl was dead long before I was born.  I think.

And by the way, my topiary is very important to me.

It's been a bit neglected of late and I am very scared that myself and Mr Cinds might eventually get trapped together by some sort of awful pubic velcro if I don't take care of it soon.

I've got a hedge trimmer you can borrow.

HEY NOW!!!

Thanks Jen, I'm hoping I stick with it this time.  Dieting is so hard but so far I'm loving all the the things I've made and the biggest plus is my eldest is also loving it all and he's lost a few lbs too which he has needed to do.  He's not fat, just carrying a little extra but he hasn't a clue he's eating diet food but has told me he is loving my new cooking.

He did his transfer test in November and got the results in February (B2) so we applied for the College he wanted to go to and we're now waiting (im)patiently for a yes or no.  Any other year a B2 would be a definite yes but this year the results were better than usual for the region AND one of the town's secondary schools closed down so there will be more applicants for the College.

I think we should know by the end of May.

Bless Amber (my eldest was to be Amber had he been a girl!), I think girls stress more about things like this whereas my wee boy was so easy going about it all we thought nah he's not passing it, he couldn't even be bothered to study.  Can't say how proud (and shocked, tbh) we were when we saw he had passed  Good luck to her.....will it affect her school choice if she doesn't get above a certain grade?  Some kids sit the test even though they are applying for a school which doesn't need exam results for admissions.

Well done Ells - there are some lovely recipes in the latest SW mag. I'm gonna have a go at the pulled pork on bbq sauce I think. My weight loss us agonisingly slow but that's just how it is. I've been 1,5 lbs away from 2.5 stone (target) weight loss since February!!

www.minimins.co.uk (maybe it's com) is a brilliant site for recipes Sooz.....so many talented people on there tweaking recipes to fit SW.  I think I'll be a slow loser too and that's what bores me.  But I suppose slow and steady wins the race

So does that mean you still don't know what school your eldest is going to in Sept?

Yep!  I am really nervous now, I hadn't really given it much thought the past few months with other things going on but it's an agonising wait now because we are planning on moving aswell so I want to get somewhere nearer whatever school he is at so that's on hold until we get the letter.

I'm still waiting for my daughter to decide what she's going to do in September, she has applied to 5 universities and has been accepted by all of them (if she passes) She's been to look round some of them and decided on Leeds, now all the rooms have gone on the main campus  I've been telling her to hurry up and pick, so she went to look at the next nearest and said it was horrible.

Last week she turned round and said I've decided to put it off for a year as I don't feel ready to be on my own that far from home and have decided to do a year long apprenticeship in a school, I've told her She's got to do what feels right for her no one else can decide for her

She went to see her tutor about enrolling for the apprenticeship and he said She's to good for it and needs to go straight to university, she still hasn't made her mind  up, I don't want to push her to if She's unhappy about it, don't really know what to say to her, it will be my fault whatever she decides

Not a good start to the day

I'm currently waiting for a manager to ring me from the online bathroom supplies.

I was so chuffed with myself last week ordering all my fab stuff at great prices.

Why do they give you delivery dates and them mot deliver?

I've scheduled builders/plumber/tiler/electrician around these deliveries and they have cocked up AGAIN!!

Any money I've saved has been eaten up in wasted time

and man hours.

I feel bad - the girl I was dealing with was lovely - bent over backwards to help etc.

The thing is - it's all a bit pointless when it's not right isn't it?

Rant over.
