Oh dear, not all that again  I really couldn't care less if they've danced a bit before or not and certainly don't see it as cheating. If they were to eliminate everyone who has ever danced before, ever,in any style, then surely they'd be struggling for contestants?

I did not say they are cheating, but it DOES give them an advantage over the non dancers and places a degree of imbalance to the line-up.

I disagree with your final sentence as there is a massive difference between casual dancing and having it as part of your everyday job.

The same could be said for any contestants that are actors. It's unfair because they could deliver a performance.

Just because they may learn cheesy routines as part of their pop song, doesn't mean they know how to rumba or fleckle.

Seriously, what is a fleckle?

I thought that was what ringer meant? Urban dictionary definition: ringer, any type of contestant in a game who is entered in order to cheat.

Having to learn dance routines means that you are half way there..a fleckle is only a lesson a way...so different for those that havent had that history

I'm using ringer in a general sense that someone has an advantage, in some cases that may be such an advantage that some may consider it cheating.

Enthusiastic Contrafibularities

Without wanting to get involved too much  in the ringer debate ....I woukd just like to say that there has to be a vast difference between where the likes of Tim , Judy and Allyson start from , and the boy band/girl band contestants start from ....that to me makes it an unfair contest in many ways ....
