Strictly Come Dancing 2014 line up rumours!

It’s nearly that time of year again, so just who is on Strictly Come Dancing 2014 this year?

This year’s Strictly Come Dancing line up hasn’t yet been officially confirmed, and won’t be for a few more weeks yet, but there have been plenty of rumours to speculate about.

Amongst those tipped to take to the Strictly dance floor this year are Match of the Day football pundit Alan Hansen and TV hard man Ross Kemp.

The two could be joined by Xtra Factor’s Caroline Flack, who was axed from the ITV2 spin off earlier in the year.

TOWIE’s Mark Wright has reportedly signed up, as has hunky rugby star Thom Evans, This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Monty Python’s Carol Cleveland.

X Factor winner (and reality telly show regular) Joe McElderry is another rumoued name, along with mum of Tennis ace Andy Murray, Judy Murray and Master Chef’s Gregg Wallace.

Finally, former soap star Michelle Collins and ex Blue Peter host Helen Skelton complete the current list of this year’s rumoured Strictly Come Dancing celebrities.

Strictly begins in September on BBC One!

Joanne Clifton joins Strictly alongside her brother Kevin, who joined in 2013.

They are the first siblings to participate in the show... and we're sure the rivalry won't be evident at all!

Joanne is World Ballroom Showdance Champion and has competed in over 20 countries around the world. She has won numerous awards and accolades and is five-time British Champion, European Professional Champion and recently, champion of the World Dancesport Games in Taiwan.

Irish born Tristan MacManus joins Strictly after three years as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars in America, where he most notably partnered Gladys Knight and Pamela Anderson.

Tristan began dancing in his home of Bray, Co. Wicklow before competing around Europe, winning numerous juvenile, junior and amateur competitions. He has appeared in many successful stage shows including Dirty Dancing and Burn The Floor.

Also returning to Strictly is four-time Australian Dance Champion Natalie Lowe, who will be back in the ballroom once again after withdrawing from last year’s series due to injury.

There will be eight female and seven male professional dancers this year.

Sadly both Artem Chigvintsev and James Jordan will not be returning to the series, alongside Anya Garnis who will not partner a celebrity, but will remain part of the choreography team.

Former Strictly Champion and 2013 series finalist, Artem, departs the series having decided to remain in the USA and feature in Dancing with the Stars.

James Jordan departs Strictly after eight series, but his wife Ola will return.

Louise Rainbow, Executive Producer says: “We’re delighted that Joanne and Tristan will be joining our fantastic cast of professional dancers this year and look forward to them becoming part of the Strictly family.”

“A huge thank you goes out to both Artem and James for being hardworking, dedicated dancers on the show, and we wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.”

So, to sum up the professional dancers for 2014 are:

Females
Aliona Vilani
Iveta Lukosiute
Janette Manrara
Joanne Clifton
Karen Hauer
Kristina Rihanoff
Natalie Lowe
Ola Jordan

Males

Aljaž Skorjanec
Anton du Beke
Brendan Cole
Kevin Clifton
Pasha Kovalev
Robin Windsor
Tristan MacManus

'Strictly Come Dancing' has lost another professional dancer after Robin Windsor was forced to pull out of the new series because of a back injury.

Robin - who danced with 'Dragon's Den' star Deborah Meaden on 'Strictly' last year - says he is 'devastated' at the news.

"I'm devastated to have to pull out of Strictly this year due to a pre-existing back injury," he said. "It's been a really difficult decision, but I plan to focus 100% on my recovery and hope to be back in the ballroom as soon as possible, doing what I love best.

"In the meantime, I wish the rest of the cast and crew the best of luck with the new series which I'll be watching every week."

Robin will be replaced by Australian dance star Trent Whiddon, who has appeared on the US and Australian equivalent of 'Strictly' - 'Dancing With The Stars' - as well as on Broadway.

He said: "I am so excited to have been asked to join Strictly. It's such an honour to be a part of the show and I can't wait to step onto the famous Strictly dancefloor."

'Strictly' executive producer, Louise Rainbow said: "We are of course sad to lose Robin from this year's show. He is a valued member of the Strictly family and we wish him the very best with his recovery.

"But every cloud has a silver lining and I am delighted to welcome Trent to our team of professional dancers."

Robin won't be the only familiar face not appearing on this year's 'Strictly' following the departure of James Jordan and Artem Chigvintsev.

James recently hit out at bosses of the show after he was axed, saying they treat the professional dancers 'like dirt'.

He told The Sun: “The dancers get treated like dirt. The producers like to tell you no one is bigger than the BBC and you’re all replaceable — and I was.

“I think that they forget that without the professionals, they don’t have a show.

“I believe everyone should be treated the same and unfortunately the professional dancers are treated very, very, very differently to the celebrities.”

The 12th series of 'Strictly' kicks off on 2 September on BBC One when this year's celebrity contestants will be revealed.

Great great great great great!!!!!!!!!

My least favourites are gone and my favourites are in I'm very happy to see Aliona, Natalie and Iveta all in this season

I'm gutted about Robin, he's lovely.

Shame about Anya because I liked her, for me she could replace Jeanette

With Brucie out and Claudia in, I'm happy.

It's going to be a fantastic year!

Strictly Come Dancing 2014: Sir Bruce Forsyth to return for 'handover ceremony'

Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly [Strictly Come Dancing)

Sir Bruce Forsyth will return to Strictly Come Dancing this year for a special ‘handover’ ceremony

The outgoing host will handover the glitter ball to new (sort of) hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman in next month’s launch show.

The 86-year-old has been fronting the BBC One series for over a decade but announced earlier this year we would not be presenting the latest show this autumn.

But the Mirror newspaper reports that a special ‘handover’ ceremony on this year’s Strictly launch will feature Brucie.

“It will be a symbolic ceremony. And knowing Bruce, it will be sure to involve a nifty dance move or two,” an insider told the newspaper. “It’s great to have him back. He is such an iconic part of the show.

“Also, having him on board will help the BBC go head to head in its annual ratings war with ITV’s The X Factor.”

Sir Bruce admitted this week: “I’ll feel very strange and I’ll miss it like mad, but when you’ve been with something for 11 years that will happen.”

So far seven stars have been confirmed for this year’s Strictly line-up, including Mark Wright, Simon Webbe, Thom Evans, Alison Hammond, and Frankie Bridge.

The show will kick off next month on BBC One with the live shows beginning in October.
