I'm not too bothered myself but I do get irritated when some get away with murder on this dance floor and yet Denise Van Outen got slaughtered for her background.

Sorry to bore, and I'll say it again....go back to the 1st series and see how bad that was.  This show needs SOME half decent dancers; we'd be mutinous if it was car crash all the way through to the final

i agree - I really don't care - I loved Denise van Outen too.  I just like watching the nice dances - if a beginner improves too, all the better, but I can't be done with 'comedy' acts.

DVO got slaughtered for pretending she didn't have dance experience. I think it's the trying to con which annoys folk. Jay and others like Helen haven't hidden their dance training.

I don't like disingenuity either, and it has a tendency to morph into arrogance (Widdy for example...and even John Sargeant went silly sulky towards the end)....and they weren't even 'ringers' which makes it doubly annoying!

I wonder how hard it is to get people to sign up for SCD?  Maybe there's too many who are overly talented to be considered for a place.  Must be hard to get a decent balance whilst trying to make a credible series...?

No, but she had a lot of dance training, and trying to persuade people that her west end performances were little more than 'sitting on a chair', annoyed a lot of people.

I don't like the woman, so her ringer staus was just another annoyance.

I'm honest enough to admit that if I'd have found her likeable, I might have been more forgiving about the dance background.

I think that's the nub of it for me and probably most of us, Yogi.  Fortunately, we at least only get part-time ringer versions   

I still think a ringer is the lesser of 2 evils when put alongside the 'comedy' option though.  

I've rewatched Jay and Aliona's jive at least six times, and it's still brilliant with every viewing! I love his confused puppy reaction to good comments and scores.
