We don't detest her Video, we just think she has a very unfair advantage over the rest of them....you only have to look at her first dance to see that....she danced like a professional from day 1..... and just for the record, I'm not keen on Louis either

I don't like Lisa...... but in essence, yes......I feel it should be more about people like Michael.... people who gradually improve as the series goes on ....... or like Matt Baker... or that news presenter guy who won a couple of years ago....

I agree - hopefully Lisa will be gone tomorrow unless the fourth place in the final is to ensure she is in it

Dan Wootton, Daily Mail (today)

For weeks, viewers have asked why Strictly Come Dancing’s judges have given Olympic gymnast Louis Smith tougher scores and critiques than his rivals.

It was only after his near-flawless performance on Saturday that Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell began to award him marks comparable to front-runner Denise Van Outen.

I’m told that’s because staff on the show are well aware the heart-throb has been topping the viewers’ phone vote for weeks and is almost assured a place in the final on December 22.

My Strictly source reveals: ‘It’s been known behind the scenes for weeks now that Louis is a sure bet for the final. As a result, the judges knew there was no point giving him nines and tens every week because it would allow him no progression throughout the series.

‘To be truthful, they have marked him harder than the other dancers because he is a gymnast who has a natural advantage over a rival like Lisa Riley.’

While I don’t want to see the judges going easy on the celebs, it’s been clear to me they’ve been marking Louis, 23, down unfairly for weeks.

If anything, that has only increased his support with the public.

Barring a huge surprise over the next two weeks, it’s hard to see a scenario where he won’t become this year’s king of the dancefloor.

SCD is about a taking a celeb out of their normal environment and learning  a new skill.Denise is all about dance and theatre,it's what she does! so much so that Andrew Lloyd Webber had her critic and judge on his  BBC show to help find his next "Star" who would be the lead in his Westend production of Maria,Joseph, and another one I can't recall. He didn't ask a cricketer or Gymnast to be on the panel. Why? Because they don't dance /have never danced or been part of on a West end production.

When Denise Van Outen signed up for strictly, dance was her discipline.

The rest of the contestants came from different diciplines .

Actors/Gymnasicst/Cricket/Boy band/Cyclist/Model and Johnny Ball.

I get what you're saying Erin, but I see it differently.   Ballroom and theatre dance are different disciplines - it's like taking Mo Farrah and saying he should be good at long jump because they're both athletics.  Chances are he'll be better then your average Joe because he'll be fitter, have a more competitive spirit and have the correct mindset for training.   In the same way that Denise (and Louis) have taken to dancing.

Erinp plenty of them have had  relevant experience, in fact all who are currently still in it to win it apart from Nicky as far as I can make out, (and he's surely favourite for the chop this week?) : Lisa had dance lessons when she was young; Kimberley was in W End show Shrek and  performed dance routines with Girl's Aloud; Dani went to stage school; Louis had previously danced and his experience in men's artistic gymnastics surely had to give him a a head start and he frequently uses gymnastics moves in his routines. None of them, including Denise, as far as I am aware, had any experience of Ballroom/Latin. I don't deny that Denise, (and others,) had an advantage over some, she's done musical theatre and danced one number in Chicago, but she's not alone, that's been the case in many a SCD, one of my favourites ever was Jill Halfpenny and she too had previous dance/ musical theatre experience.

Sorry Baz, but you have to admit, that was a bit of a gift

I don't even want Denise to win, not least of all 'cos I can't bear that bloody supercilious James one. Danni and Vincent all of the way for me

I was a little confused about that bit as I don't recall any dance routines on Any Dream Will Do or on How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria. Anyways Denise wasn't a judge on Maria, she did judge on 'I'd do Anything' but, like Joseph, Oliver is hardly a 'dance' production

Even though I like her, and I disagree, I still understand why people don't want her to win.
