β€œIt’s a big coup for the Beeb. They’ve bagged Girls Aloud and Kylie too.”

And the supposed insider rubbished claims that Robbie would be on the X  Factor show as well, which finishes a week earlier in Manchester.

The source added: β€œRobbie is definitely doing our show. He knows we’ve got  the bigger audience.”

'She proved a larger lady can still dance well': How Lisa Riley changed Robin Windsor

 23 November 2012

The dance partner of Strictly’s surprise front-runner Lisa Riley admits he had the wrong first impression about her β€” but says she has now made him β€œa better person”.

Robin Windsor was thrilled when the TV presenter, 36, won audience acclaim by ending her samba routine with the splits during last weekend’s live show at Wembley Arena.

β€œLisa has captured the nation’s hearts,” said Windsor, 33. β€œEveryone is talking about her and it’s all for good reasons. She has come and proved that you can be a larger lady and still dance well.

β€œOriginally I thought she was going to become a novelty act because I have preconceptions like everybody else. What’s great is that she has also made me a better person.

β€œShe did say to me at the beginning, β€˜I can do the splits’, and I looked at her and thought, β€˜Really?’

β€œAnd she said, β€˜Let’s save them for something special’. When we got to Wembley I said, β€˜There’s never going to be a more special moment than this’. And what a reception.”

Windsor was speaking as he and fellow Strictly  Come Dancing professional Kristina Rihanoff joined the cast of Burn The Floor, the live ballroom dance show coming to the Shaftesbury Theatre in March.

They said everyone on the BBC show is delighted that it is beating rival The X Factor in the Saturday night ratings battle.

Windsor added: β€œLike everything in this world, things evolve. Every year Strictly gets better. We’re drawing two million a week more than X Factor.”

I'm really not sure I'll be able to watch Lisa doing a Rumba.

I feel your pain

Rumba is a sensual dance ,it needs long extended leg movements and Lisa has neither.

It’ll be her second Christmas special and third appearance on the show  overall.

Also back on the show for their third time is beauty Kelly Brook, while 2010  winner Kara Tointon will be making her Strictly Christmas debut.

Rachel Stevens meanwhile makes her fourth appearance on a Strictly line up,  having previously finished as runner up back in 2008β€²s series and taken part in  two Christmas specials.

They’ll all be joined by hunky Colin Jackson, last year’s runner up Waterloo  Road star Chelsee Healey and former winner, presenter Chris Hollins.

But in a twist, there will be two newbies.

Following in the footsteps of Westlife’s Nicky Byrne and Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh, in a special signing, JLS singer JB  will also be taking part.

A show insider said: β€œThis booking comes on the back of our most successful  series ever.”
