As a new series of Strictly draws closer, we are excited to reveal we'll be adding an extra celebrity to the line-up this year.

Yep, 15 celebrities will be making their dance floor debut in the autumn!

Celebrities need dance partners, so we are very pleased to welcome Anya Garnis and Kevin Clifton to the Strictly fold, joining Aljaz, Iveta and Janette to complete our already stellar pro-dancer line-up.

Russian-born Latin dancer Anya Garnis started dancing at the age of 10. She began competing in 1998 with her dance partner and fellow Strictly star Pasha Kovalev. The pair became finalists several times at the U.S. Open Ballroom Championship, before appearing in the US series So You Think You Can Dance.

Most recently, Anya headlined on Broadway in Burn the Floor, before joining the show’s World Tour of 20 countries.

No stranger to Strictly, Kevin performed in many of last year’s group routines. A former Youth World Number One and four-time British Latin Champion, Kevin has won International Open titles across the globe.

Trained in Ballroom and Latin from an early age Kevin was taught by his parents, former World Champions Keith and Judy Clifton.

Kevin is also engaged to Strictly pro Karen Hauer!

umm  not sure about Aliona - nothing I read suggests she is in this year so far

the pro who replaced her when she went out injured has secured a place for this year and a few others - this info goes back to June - when did she tweet ?

The Mail are saying they'll all be revealed tomorrow, but they're saying Deborah Meaden is going to be one of them.   Don't think it's official comment from Strictly, but they've been right about everyone confirmed so far.  (Also saying Kirsty from Corrie and Fiona Fullerton)  The only other male mention is Ben Cohen the rugby player.  How's he looking ladies?

As much as I want it to start I will be glad of the hiatus.

BTW hiatus make lovely bedding plants

I'm very optimistic about this group. There is no one that stands out as a "hate" figure for me and I don't see an obvious "totally unsuitable for dance" contestant unlike other years. There are a couple I have not a clue who they are, but hey this looks like it could be a vintage series for me.
