Ann Widdecombe is not even referring to herself in a positive way.

Early gut feelings - based on very very very little evidence:-
Vincent is a good teacher, and if Felicity Kendal has the ability they could do well.
I don't get the sense that Gavin Henson has the er...er...."flair" for it.
If Matt Baker has a sense of music and rhythm I thyink I'll be following him, and he could do well.

But we have seen so many times that contestants look well up for the job, but as soon as they step on the floor and the music strikes up - it is clear they just haven't got it.

But mostly I want to see ballroom back. Last night seemed like disco and gymnastics to me (the bits of SCD I've always disliked.)    I want ballroom back.

The one thing I dislike about this show is each year the moaning seems to get worse, not everyone can be pleased grrr it annoys me.

Been watching videos from series 5, Alesha Dixon and Matt Di Angelo are my favourite female and male contestants out of all the celebs, still annoyed that Louisa's dances got removed from YT especially her Jive.

I'm afraid I didn't see all of it Baz  (I was tired after all that dancing and of course I had to make sure the outfit was put away properly and the sequins were not snagging.)
But as something of a Gethin Jones fan (especially as a dancer) I suspect I shall be watching it.
They do some very bold and quite daring stuff in some of these programmes don't they.
(Incidentally Gethin was joking on Twitter about Gavin Henson's priority always being his waxing and tanning rather than the tasks.)

Haven't read this thread but I Sky+'d it and saw it last night. That final dance they did as a group was one of the funniest things I've seen They all looked shit scared, Jimi Mistry nearly put his back out, Gavin Henson was cantering like a horse completely out of time to the music and I don't think Anne Widecombe knew where the hell she was

I defo think you would enjoy it Brisket.... although I think we would both have to ditch our sequins and get out the mink! Yes.... the part I saw yesterday had them swimming in a Norwegian fjord at temps of  -..... well let's just say....... brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I am sure one of the guys on there is the Welsh rugby player guy from SCD as well... although I may be wrong about that........ Anyway, it  is on again on Tuesday..

I suppose it is to do with changes they make darlo.

A matter of taste I guess, Some people will like them while others will not.
But I imagine it will have to be drastically bad to prevent me watching until Christmas. (Although I may moan along the way.    )

Gutted for Anton.....when is he going to get a decent partner??? I would have loved the smarmy Vincente to be lumbered with Anne.....and to add insult to injury, the gawjuss Ian Waite is a mere troupe dancer this season......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....I don't want it to be all sexed up and americanised.....I loved it the way it was....*sobs*

Some people will never be satisified though thats the problem, we all have our moans about the show and not agree with certain things, wouldn't like to be a producer.

I think you may be right darlo. He is not afraid of challenge. When he did the series "Maestro" where celebrities had a bash at conducting he was very good. And of course this time he has the wonderful Kristina to tutor him.
I like him, seen some of his acting work plus his music. Kristina is brill and they seem well matched, he'll get the hang of it with her guidance.

The only thing I'll say is that I hope they don't make the series too much like Dancing with the Stars.  The reason I much prefer SCD is that they keep to the very strict rules of proper ballroom dancing unlike our American cousins whose dances can sometimes be nothing more than a showy trot around the floor with props and stuff.  Me no likey props and rubbish like that    I'm upset that Anton hasn't got a good partner again  but did we expect anything less from the producers!

Anyhoo I look forward to seeing them all dance as I don't actually have a favourite - yet!
