Strictly bosses blame budget cuts

Strictly Come Dancing bosses have blamed budget cuts for the show losing out to the X Factor in the ratings battle, according to reports.

A peak of 15.8million viewers tuned in to see Rachel Adedeji knocked out of the X Factor, while Zoe Lucker's elimination from Strictly was seen by only 9.5million.

Angry Strictly producers have put their poor showing down to limits on pay for celebrity contestants.

A BBC insider told News of the World: "They put a ÂĢ50,000 cap on celeb fees this year, so we couldn't sign up big stars like Kelly Brook or Penny Lancaster-Stewart.

"And ITV splashed out on a new set and live results show. Our set looks tired in comparison and we dropped our results show.

They added: "Next year the BBC needs to invest properly and sign some major stars or Strictly won't be around forever like we hoped."

Meanwhile, the Strictly Come Dancing tour has been hit by a pay dispute as the dance professionals are angry at being paid less than the celebs.

One of the professionals previously told the News of the World: "Yet again, it's one law for the celebs and another for us dancers.

"Often dancers are bigger stars than the celebs. Take Ola Jordan - she is a far bigger draw than, say, Lynda Bellingham.

"We feel like we are being treated as second-class citizens."

Arlene Phillips thinks Craig danced like a Blackpool Donkey
Ah for Gods sake thats a disgraceful thing to say. If I was a celeb there is no way I would put myself through that torture, week in week out. The judges need to get a grip and stop being so rude and personal. Bruno and Alesha are getting on my nerves bit style, way too spiteful IMO. I was itching to give them both a good slap on Saturday

All the judges are as bad as each other. They've all had stick for saying personal comments but everything Alesha says is going to be scrutinized anyway by some people because of the debate over whether or not she should be there. They should be told off as it's plain rude and disrespectful to the celebs. It's not the World Dancing Championships as some seem to think it is...

Nothing Alesha said on Saturday is as bad as the others have said about him during the past weeks e.g Craig but the bosses should really tell them off no wonder the public voting goes against what the so called experts say.

Darlo I really love your posts and know you are a real true diehard Alesha fan but she behaved really badly on Saturday, even you must be able to see that.

I was never an Alesha basher BUT she really was way out of line , really personal and hurtful and dare I say it 'Spiteful'. Not  only did she rip Craig to shreds, she actually let herself down.Acted liked a nasty petulant madam!

I hope someone has a word with her because if she continues in this vein, she will loose any fans that she has (IMO)

Yes she was really rude and I was actually really disappointed with her, but it's her opinion. Whenvever Craig has been rude he's taken the criticism, then is easily forgiven again like Len or Bruno if he has done it so she should do the same. Whether right or wrong it was her opinion, maybe she lost her temper but I do feel she should have been more encouraging to Craig. Still hasn't changed the way that I feel about her at all.

People have ranted at Craig on the forums etc and been harsh with some of the stuff they've said about him, so thats just as bad as what the 4 judges said. He did think he was better than what he was but he tried his hardest just a relief he went anyway. Think she will have regretted what she said...

I think what she said IS what alot of people were thinking at home but that doesn't make it right to say it in such a way. The judges are in a position were they should encourage or give  constructive criticism not tear people too shreads. I thought they were all bang out of order to him. It was uncomfortable to watch.
Bless Craig, he did think he was really good but people voted for him so he had every right to be there. The judges should know by now that the 'better' dancers don't always go through.
I have to say i don't think Alesha's done herself that well by choosing to be a judge on this show and i think thats a shame.

I thought Ali and Brian's VW was soo beautiful. I hope they win

Ricky
Ricky Whittle
and Strictly Come Dancing partner Natalie Lowe are rumoured to be dating.

The pair were spotted having a meal with Natalie's parents in Liverpool on Sunday.

‘They looked very cosy and it certainly seemed as though her mum and dad took to Ricky,' says an onlooker.

Hollyoaks hunk Ricky, 27, recently split from his co-star Carley Stenson after two years.

A BBC spokeswoman has refused to comment on the romance rumours.

But she told the Daily Mirror: ‘There is clearly a great deal of chemistry between them.'

Alesha's former Misteeq band member. Obviously trying to start up a music career again. Lots of familiar faces in there if that is the line up...
I used to love Sam Fox when she was a page 3 girl.
She must be the best page 3 girl ever.
Camilla Dallerup, she's lovely isn't she?
And Katie Price, Wow, she's a live wire to say the least.
So I think it's going to be an interesting program.
