So, if people rang JS to give his missus abuse for him still being there, how was that the judges' fault? It was the fault of the fools who kept voting to keep him in, not the judges who rightly wanted him out.

darlo, if someone you knew got the sack and you were offered their job, would you take it? Or, if you were head-hunted for a job and then found out (before you started it) that someone you knew had been fired to make room for you, would you want it?

No-one knows what the reasons were for Arlene going only the BBC do and they have a lot to answer for, they were the ones who obviously wanted Alesha on board and she accepted so they have a lot of explaining to do. People vote for whoever they want and the judges shouldn't have told people who to vote for but still doesn't excuse the fact some people take SCD way too far.

As for the question probably no because it wouldn't feel right and would be disrespectful.

Yep, I agree the Beeb were wrong and people take SCD too far.
And in the second bit of your reply, you've agreed that you wouldn't have done what Alesha did. So we agree!

Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood does cha cha cha with Camilla

Camilla and Craig Revel Horwood [Pic: Getty)

Camilla certainly gets Craig Revel Horwood's vote as the pair take the floor for a cha cha cha.

The camp Strictly Come Dancing judge encouraged the Duchess of Cornwall to wiggle her hips as they held hands and shimmied to a Latin track, yesterday.

They were visiting a primary school in London on World Osteoporosis Day to promote dancing as a way to keep bones healthy.

Later Craig, 44, said of his royal dance partner, who is president of the National Osteoporosis Society: "I'd give her 10. Her timing was excellent."

ITT was brilliant again last night with Karen doing the Choreography Corner. I think it is the highlight of the week for me on ITT. Except for Friday when they discuss music choices and costumes.
I agree with you, love Karen, it's a pity she can't have a word with all the Celebs during the week to point them in the right direction.

It's as if everyone knows what they are doing wrong but no-one tells them so the judges have something to pick at on a Saturday.
Why don't they corrct them during the week, the Pro partner only has time to teach them the steps not to correct all the problems, something stinks about the whole setup to me.

That would be great if they could have a mid-week session with Karen.  Some of the dancers though, would need much more than an hour of Karen's time though!

They always seem to point out all the problems to us, but they don't tell the dancers, so they aren't going to do it right on Saturday, because they don't want them to.

They know some are hopeless dancers, but they don't want to help them, they want to laugh at them.

I suppose they could always watch ITT!

It's kind of odd that they don't have someone come in to sort out little niggling problems.  The pro dancers probably can't see the little things that irk the judges, like the foot turned in or the shape of the hands.  They have other dancers come in to work with them on some dances - like the Argentian Tango (except Vincent and Flavia, of course).

Does anyone know what any of the couples doing then?.
Ricky Groves and Erin Boag are going to do a Viennese Waltz type of American Smooth. Erin was quite excited because American Smooth is rarely done as a Viennese Waltz, - and she was also delighted with her choice of music "Chim Chiminy, Chim, Chim Cheree", partly thinking it would reflect Ricky's character.

They have messed up my routine on ITT! I am used to them discussing the costumes and music on Friday's show, but they discussed it last night!  It was a nice surprise, I have to say though!

Brendan and Jo were on and they showd the clip of Brendan storming off.  His expression wasn't one of anger though, he was grinning ear to ear!  Just another Brendan stunt.

Absolutely! And Jo Wood was in on it with him (IMO) She was laughing when they went in to talk with Tess after their stomping off.

Frankly, I'm tired of all this "controversary" over every little thing. It's starting to ruin the programme for me and I do love SCD.
Well I still agree with him stomping off, I would have done the same if he said that to a partner I had been teaching to dance and spent all week with, to insult the female contestant like that is totally unneccessary, it's not constructive and doesn't help anyone.

I don't think it possibly have been planned, but If they insult Jo again he'll do the same, they don't need to listen to the judges trying to score points, it's bad enough with that clown Brucie, he insults most of them all of the time, he should be rested while the show still has a few viewers, because it mis losing millions.

Change Of Time Slot For Strictly Come Dancing

12:55pm UK, Thursday October 22, 2009

Strictly Come Dancing is being moved to an earlier time slot - but the BBC is denying it is running scared from The X Factor.

Some of the contestants from this year's Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor

The two shows have clashed for periods of more than an hour at times, leaving frustrated fans having to make a choice or hop between channels.

But on October 31, the overlap will be eased to 45 minutes, with Strictly starting at 6.50pm and ending at 8.45pm, and ITV's The X Factor getting under way at 8pm.

A spokesman for the BBC said the earlier slot had nothing to do with The X Factor and the move was to make way for a new series starring impressionist Jon Culshaw.

He added that Strictly is a "key part of our Saturday line-up".

The overlap is expected to decrease naturally as more hopefuls are knocked out of the competitions, leading to shorter running times.

The X Factor hit a new high with its biggest ever audience on Sunday.

The show - the second of this year's live heats - drew a peak audience of 14.8 million, beating even last year's final.

Saturday's edition of The X Factor drew an average audience of 10.9 million viewers, 1.6 million more than watched the equivalent episode last year.

On BBC1, Strictly Come Dancing was watched by an average of 7.8 million viewers.

It's not even the changes that I am finding difficult.  I'm glad to see the back of Arlene, I didn't like her at all.  I would much prefer to see Karen or Camilla in the judging panel rather than Alesha as I feel the two of them are much more knowledgable than Alesha.

It's the constant tabloid fodder that we are subjected to - he said this, she said that, blah, blah, blah that I find hard to deal with.  I love SCD for the dancing, the glitz and the glamour.  For a couple of hours on a Saturday night I can leave all my problems behind and be transported back to a time when men dressed up in black tie and tails and women in beautiful gowns and danced the night away.

If I had a strop every time somebody said to me:
"you run like a -------" or
"you look like a --------" or
"you sit like a --------"  I'd be on a permanent strop.
Stupid reaction from Brendan to a light-hearted comment.
I hope Jo Wood does not start getting sympathy votes.
She has danced poorly every week and on Saturday she certainly did a lot of bobbing.
(Even when she is not dancing I find her irritating - she talks like a 5 year old.)

I was never a fan or Arlene Philips but I was stunned at her behaviour the other day.

There is a programme in Ireland called XPOSE, gossip, girly type of thing.
One of their presenters was in London at a press conference for the unveiling of a new dance show / or some such initative

...Angela Rippon, Lisa Snowdon (charming)  and Arlene were all there.

The interviewer Aishling  said to Arlene and I quote"

Hello Arlene, all your Irish fans are missing you off the tv on Sat nights.......

Well, Arlene went mental, moved away from the interviewer and started off on one.

'I can't be doing with these questions, etc...etc...this is tooooooo much.

She was really  NARKY, totally obnoxious and way over the top.

Aishling  apologised and said she meant no offence but the interview didn't take place. She totally embaressed the poor girl and I was mortified for her.

Needless to say she has well and truly dirtied her bib with the a lot of folk in Irl.

I have felt bad for her because I do think it was an ageist decision by the beeb, but her behaviour was awful the other day and I've gone right off her.

I agree.  It's not like Craig even said to her that she looked like, he was responding to a comment Bruno made.  Bruno said she hopped about like a grasshopper, Craig just expanded on it.

Brendan is supposed to be a professional.  He knows what the judges are like and the flack he has gotten in the past for his tantrums.

I like Bruce. Yes he's cheesy and his jokes are old, but how many times have you heard someone say the old ones are the best?
I wasn't thinking his jokes are old, just that they usually make the contestant cringe.
They aren't funny, but he does them to get a laugh, and if they don't laugh or clap he gets annoyed and tells them off.

I think he's pulling the show down myself, he certainly isn't doing it any favours, I'm sure they could get a lot of people better suited.

Alesha's Strictly a hit on tour

rigTeaserImage

STRICTLY judge Alesha Dixon scored a ten out of ten for her stunning appearance on the first night of her UK tour.

The singer shone in a glitzy outfit that wouldn't have looked out of place on the ballroom last night.

Singer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon kicks off her UK tour by performing a concert at the Royal Condert Hall in Nottingham, UK.

Alesha

Putting on a show ... Alesha

Alesha, 31, smoldered as she sat on a swing in a sparkly costume, long black gloves and even a mini top hat, before strutting her stuff on the stage.

The former Mis-Teeq star performed at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham on the first night of her 18-night tour, The Alesha Show.

She belted out hits including The Boy Does Nothing and Breathe Slow in front of thousands.

Bet even acid-tongued judge Craig Revel Horwood would have given her top marks.

PAMMY: I WANNA STRIP ON STRICTLY

Pammy
ABOVE: Pammy in her hey day
23rd October 2009

By Peter Dyke

BAYWATCH babe Pamela Anderson wants to appear on Strictly Come Dancing to help keep its ratings afloat.

And she has vowed to strip to her famous red swimsuit and perform a sexy dance to a medley of Beach Boys songs.

Her appearance would send Strictly viewing figures soaring and give the show a much-needed boost after its trouncing by The X Factor.

Last night an insider said: “Pammy would be the sexiest thing we have ever had on the show. We’re moving heaven and earth to make it happen.”

Strictly bosses have been buzzing after receiving a call from Pamela’s agents in Los Angeles.

They have told producers the actress loves their programme.

If all goes well, she will be on for the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final on December 12 or the finale on December 19.

Pammy, 42, has been offering herself to all kind of projects amid rumours that she desperately needs cash.

It has been reported she owes almost ÂĢ1million to construction firms for work on her Malibu home and faces a huge tax bill.

But she insists she is financially secure.
