old hippy guy

cant help noticing......I may be wrong and if I am no doubt someone will put me right....but,
reading these threads and posts, I cant help noticing there seems to be 2 types of FM/posters,
there are the "old salts" the familiar names from the "other place" and in the main we (I hope I can count my self as an "old salt") aint a happy bunch, we moan and complain constantly about the farce that this show now is,
and theres the "new lot" names I dont know and lots of these seem to be all happy clappy "whooo isnt it great look at the emperors new clothes"type of people,
they start happy threads about who they are going to vote for, and reminding folks about things like its a vote to save etc etc,
and IGNORE the FACT that this is NOT Big Brother, and is NOT the show us "old salts" want,
wonders if they are friends of ch4 or something sent over here to make us think everything is ok in BB land?
paranoid? maybe, but its a thought init?

OHG, I'm an old salt but I hope I'm not complaining too much

I think maybe because we've watched all the series' and have been on the old forums since practically the beginning, we are looking at it with old eyes as it were.

Something definately isn't right this year IMO - going from what I've seen in past years - but perhaps the "new" folk are maybe youngsters or people tuning in for the first time who can only see the positives?

Then again, maybe it's all part of the big scam!!!

I was always over on C4 forums and know you all alot better than you know me cos I was banned for ages.
I'm half disillusioned about LF and half excited cos I wait all year for this and will bloody enjoy it!!!!!!

Possibly. And if you're right, it's good to see them taking more of an interest in us at last

I doubt it though. Being interested in us would actually involve them having to do some WORK for once.......rather than stick us on auto-pilot & go to the pub.

I'm an oldie, been there, done that, got the T-shirt. I also try to be a positive person and have tried to watch as if it's the first time.

BUT

I also can see that Channel 4 is trying to stifle anything negative being said by closing the forums and only allowing positive comments to be posted on their website. Very Orwellian if you ask me.

How many times do you read threads here criticising this current lot, and think "I wonder how long this thread would have lasted on the old site before being zapped?"

They can stick their musty stagnant old place. The air is cleaner and flows more freely over here

Also it was only really worth watching after 9 because of the constant sound dips and cut aways, so we have basically got what we had.

Plus most of us work so missed it through the day anyway.

Exactly. How dare we critisise the housemates or *gasp* the Goddess Davina?

I've been known to defend husemates that I don't particularly like because I felt they weren't given a chance or were being judged too critically, but the last BB was a joke on the forum.

You've probably got something there. In that case, let's hope they self combust because they have absolutely no control over what's said here...

They've been a bunch of lying rotten scheming thieves over the past few years and I'll never forget what they did after the 'Nikki' saga when they craftily changed the rules (after the fact). Some of us still have the before and after screenshots from that I believe.

Maybe there should be a thread on how C4/Endemol have schemed and lied to us over the years...
