Oh, you have my sympathies Baz. In the end I took to sneaking a few of hubby's books down to the charity shop each day ... he hasn't noticed even yet

Nice one Rexi Trouble is now Mr B is retired I have no opportunity to sneak anything anywhere nowadays I do manage to keep things under control in the house....  except for a couple of cupboards he's  purloined.....  but the garage is a nightmare.....   If anything happens to me I have visions of him being like one of those hoarders you see on TV programmes.... and disappearing under a mountain of rubbish!

oh its them locking airtight things we had to hunt down today

you should see how excited the Gyps is over her new found storage stuff...

its not a case of de-cluttering as such, though we have emptied the loft today!! but Gyps has loads of craft stuff, and cake making stuff etc...and now it all has its own special storage!!...Im amazed at her enthusiasm towards everything having it's own little place...cute!!

^^^^^^ They are very useful, Zazz.  I've got dozens of them.

We desperately need to de clutter - we are both hoarders - I honestly think I hoard useful stuff - Mr woo thinks he does too (although personally I think his stuff is a pile of cack).

For many years I've felt the need to hang onto every single book I've ever bought (and there are hundreds) - I now really think that they really need to go!

I'm seriously dropping hints for a Kindle for Christmas ................I really do love books though. My Brother in law would never speak to me again though - he's an editor at Harper Collins .....................books are lovely - the smell of new paper - the lovely cover etc. etc. - I know ................i'm a bit sad but I really do love books!

Do it Pengy. I was like that too but it's very theraputic

well funny enough I'm going to clear the spare room junk room where everything that I don't want disappears to, get a skip and throw the lot out  t'ain't no use to man nor beast so it's prolly best to just get rid of it

I've been dropping hints about wanting a Kindle since my birthday in February and I still haven't got one    I have downloaded the application to my computer but it's not the same as the actual kindle

So do I, Soozy.

I've had an E-Reader for ages but I much prefer a "real" book.

I hope that doesn't happen in my lifetime, Soozy.

I bet the old style touring companies said that about television

Harper Collins eh?? That's the one (and only) company that my daughter wants to do work experience with

My BIL is the specialist 'Tolkien' editor .............very involved with all stuff 'Lord of the Rings' and is currently in NZ with regard to 'The Hobbit' ........apparently it's being filmed (or soon to be) - lots of new editions and spin offs in the making.

All i'll say is - my bil is a lovely guy but don't know if he can pull any strings.

Get with the times woman!

thing is though Sprout if you're a tactile person like me, you love the feel of a book and the smell of it.  I like dog eared pages and and thumbed pages.  It's a whole experience that you just don't get with electronics (my reason for wanting a Kindle is because they are lighter than books for Uni and I can download a lot rather than having to lug them around.

It's the same with ipod - great things but I loved the whole thing with records/tapes/cds of feeling them, reading the covers, getting the lyrics, looking at them stacked on the shelf

I make a point of shredding any piece of paper with my name/address/personal info and then I burn it when it's about 1am and no ones about cos we can be prosecuted here in Brum for lighting fires

PMSL!              I just use a cross cut shredder

See, yes, you might have something there but it's a space thing. Why hoard when you can store  and most CD's have the lyrics on the covers/inserts now
