I think Labour have played it beautifully.

Who'd have thought, even a few weeks back, that they would manage to force Cameron into a curb crawling role, whispering to Clegg that his wife doesn't understand him, whilst passing a few notes through the car window.

In the meantime, Brown is being talked of as a dignified statesman and a true political heavyweight.

Blizz'ard
He had to go, his position became a liability thanks to the media (mostly MurCOCK) who have lambasted him since day one. As a Labour supporter, I personally think he's led the party and the country fairly, with dignity and tried to be fair to everyone, the well off and the poorer...I very much doubt we'll get that now.

We now have a cobbled together government that are so far apart in policies it's quite remarkable and this is supposed to give us a stable government. The only way it can be sustainable is for one or both to abandon their policies/principles.

Well I'm glad you are happy with him packing his cases and leaving today, reportedly.  Seems a little kick up the bottie to me, but there again what do I know

You've no idea how delighted I am that they never went in with the Lib Dems Squiggle, and to think the Tories and Murcock have been banging on about get Brown out he's not an elected PM...and what have we now. Cameron supposedly giving Clegg Deputy PM's job, this is the party that came last with 50 odd seats. Now if that aint ironic nothing is

That's not exactly true.  The Labour party have been negotiating with the Lib Dems in private the whole time, and in public today and yesterday.  So the wish for Labour to jump in bed with the Lib Dems was clearly there from the start.

As it happens, Lib Dems have rejected Labour, in favour of the better, more stable and decent party in the Conservatives.

I thought they had a deal? Sorry Squiggle I have stated time and time again I never wanted them to go in with the Lib Dems, I think it's going to be more damaging to any party. I don't know what post your referring too, but I certainly never ever wanted a Lib/Lab pact..

That's not exactly true either Spider, if the Tories could not strike a deal it was up to the now outgoing  government to try and form a government. I think you'll find that the majority on the Labour MP's would have been against it in private, it would have been a risky route to take. It was Clegg that offered to have talks with Labour after GB said he would give PR to the LIb Dems, they would have had no choice than to talk to him.

Just for the record squiggle, and as I am not allowed to sully the blessed Freddie thread, I'm considering reporting you to GaGa for saying I am poison, and might report your mate for calling everyone stupid. This will be the first time I have ever felt the need to report anyone (and there have been some right loons here). Feel free to report me back. Let the mods be the arbiters. After all we do live in a democratic world. I bid you a good evening

You are free to do as you like.  I do not behave like that.  I have never reported anyone and could not imagine a circumstance where I would.  You came into a support thread.  A very friendly thread.  For the sole purpose of continuing an argument with someone who felt under attack (whether that was reasonable or not I do not comment but that is how she felt).  You did in fact goad her.  If the mods feel that my comment that you had come into a friendly thead and dropped poison is enough to ban me then fine.  I felt your post was seeking to taunt her for making a comment.  I find that pretty unacceptable behaviour.  Maybe if you had done it in the original thread then fine but to follow her into a support thread for the sole purpose of seeking, what?, an apology.  Well that may be fine in your book but in mine its a little shabby.

At least as bad as poor Joyron's comment. I rest my case.

Squiggle Joyron called us all stupid.........and reading through your Freddy thread it was for no other reason than we did not support the tory Party and you said in your thread she felt intimidated...(yes we can see it you know)....WHERE........I saw no intimidation from anyone, a few differing views thats all. You cant enter a thread call everyone stupid (because they dont agree with you) and not come back to eplain yourself

Not only do you think you own a part of a public forum, you steam in defending someone calling all concerned 'stupid'..... carry on.
Merely defending a friend.  I did not make the original remark.  We have all at some time on this forum made remarks in the heat of the moment, this seems a bit like a witch hunt to me.

Locke's No. 1 Fan. Let me tell you that loads of people just disappeared from the forum yesterday evening and most of today. People may not have felt they were being intimidating but believe me that is how it felt. Hardly any of our regulars have even popped up in the Freddie thread today. Such a shame.
You can call me Lockes Squiggle I cant see one intimidating thread here yesterday, people just having opinions, that was until Joyron made that sweeping generalisation of us all being stupid because we didnt agree with her
