For those who watch Hollyoaks.

Tell me I'm not the only one who sees this. The way he controls her, blames her for things that happened before he even met her (like the photos), always having a go at her for "lying" to him, always talking to her as if he owns her.

If it was just Steven and Kimberly, alone in a house, no cameras... I'm convinced this would turn into something really dark.

I hope she sees sense and doesn't go ahead with this madness of getting a place together on the outside.

Oh heck, I'm really sorry, Jen..!  Nothing is worth wasting the voddy over!

Patrick is a character who got with this girl Maxine and it started off like this. He gradually started to take control of her with little things like making her wear certain clothes, telling her who she can and can't socialise with, making mountains out of mole hills when it comes to little things, calling her a liar and making everything her fault. But all the time making out like she should be grateful to him for forgiving her.

It then progressed into dark stuff and the control is now physical. She now hardly leaves the house, she has to be there to greet him when he returns from work (head teacher at the school) and if she does something wrong, wears something wrong, says something wrong... if she's lucky he'll make her go and take the dog for a walk in the pissing rain without a coat or umbrella, or if she's unlucky he'll smack her one.

I know it's just a soap but I really do see hints of this in Steven.

I hope to god Kimberly gets out first so her family can make her see sense before Steven leaves.

Patrick did it very, very slowly.  Brilliant storyline, not rushed (which soaps usually do.  Mr nice guy one episode then a loon the next) and shows just how crafty these people are and how easily the victim gets roped in without knowing what he is like.

Steven is quite full on from the start.  He really makes my skin crawl and reminds me of an ex.  OTT from day 1 and trying to control me and tried to tell me that I couldn't go out with a certain dress on.  Ummm.....fook off!  Then the phone calls saying he was going to kill himself or had his mates ringing saying he wasn't eating because I wouldn't come see him.  Sadly for him I'm a selfish bitch and there was no way I was having to deal with that.  I think Kimbot is going to run a mile when she gets out and Steven will need some serious therapy because he really thinks he is a great man and should be respected.  He is in for a shock.

Thank goodness you are selfish then Ells.  You did the absolutely right thing. I just hope Steven gets told how to moderate his behaviour.

Whilst I agree with the above, I do have my reservations about the Kimbot too.

She's playing him;  is calculating her every move, and is oblivious to his 'type' because she's too busy thinking of her next move.

If it wasn't Steven, it'd be someone else in that house.

And if it wasn't Kimbot, Steven would be sexually disappointing some other female HM.

Bottom line is, like met like - player met player.
