Am not usually one for starting RIP threads but this lad was such an inspiration yet so young at only 19.

Wish I had even a fraction of the bravery he had, especially in his final days. Condolences to his family at their loss but he will live on in their memory and that of others forever because of the ÂĢ3M+ [and still rising] that he has raised for Cancer research.

Such a brave lad

He was so brave, I have no idea where he got his strength from and admire him so much for the way he conducted himself right up to the end... I think I would have been a gibbering wreck.. his family must be so proud even tho heartbroken too..

and he has certainly left his family with so many wonderful memories to look back on for such a young lad.

all the more so Olly seeing as people on twitter and in the local press websites here were questioning why when he said he was terminal, he didn't die quick enough for them or that he didn't have cancer and this was a scam

to his credit he ignored their nasty comments and one can only hope this is proof enough for them now

she was just saying how can he be so brave I think we all take the news that we have cancer differently you deal with it how you have to I guess...thanks roger

tina .

We all only have an 'allotted' amount of time ..........................his was sadly a shorter length of time than most of us. But boy - it just shows that 'size' (or 'the length of time') really doesn't matter. It's what you do with the time you have.

He has left a lasting legacy ........that is such a wonderful and inspirational thing to do - makes most of us look a bit lame in comparison.

Very sad news all the same

Gemma is incredibly brave too, Tina. She's been through such a lot, and you too.

Olly, I started following him on Twitter just recently, what an inspiration.

I hope through the pain his family will be feeling today, eventually they will find comfort and joy remembering what an amazing young man he was.

Losing a loved one is a horrible thing we all have to go through. We never get over it, but we do eventually learn to live with it.
