So does Cairon so it kind of doesn't work.
If anything I would say that was a bit of an indirect "R" (you know the rest) comment, by Sree there.
I agree with you but I dont see anyone shouting.... That was totally uncalled for IMHO.. He is a snob who thinks a university education is superior to anything...quote:Originally posted by Dean0Mac:quote:Originally posted by MrMeatAndPotatoePie:

We do know there is a big class system in India where the rich severely look down on the poor so Im not surprised with Sree's comment...
But like I said, Cairon also goes to University. Cairon if not for his temper and 'upbringing' is actually an extremely intelligent guy.
He had said it when they were not in the room. Only Kris and Charlie were present at the time and they not the brightest

That and high caste Hindu system, which is even worse.
Sree does have a high caste Hindu attitude.
Sree wouldn't say it in front of those two because he knows Cairon would definitely "Show him a big man"
He should have said it to their face then it would have been on.. His just a stupid wimp mumbling about and crawling up to people...quote:Originally posted by MrMeatAndPotatoePie:

I think Cairon would of flipped aswell... Siavash would of course stayed in Mr Cool mode
TBH I find Sree's ridiculous snobbery hillarious, he reminds me of Basil Fawlty.
Can you explain that for me?quote:Originally posted by Senora Reyes:quote:Originally posted by pretty~cocoa~eyes:

There is no reason for his snobbery he isnt all that IMO... .. He may be rich in his country but in England he is struggling like most of us...quote:Originally posted by Senora Reyes:

Im sure Cairon would have been removed ...quote:Originally posted by MrMeatAndPotatoePie:quote:Originally posted by pretty~cocoa~eyes:He should have said it to their face then it would have been on.. Sree maybe the most annoying housemate yet... I wonder how the housemates are really coping with that....

Hindu's who are high caste in India, tend to be in the best jobs, and are in powerful positions, like business, politics, Media and of course Bollywood, with the exception of Shahrukh Khan who is Muslim.
So because of thier powerful positions, they tend to have an air of a snobbery, as if they superior, I must stress here so not to cause offence, not all are like that, but it is a common observation.
I should have added, I have come across a few Sree, types, fammily functions friends and probably why I laugh at his attitude, rather than get annoyed by him.
Ah I see thanks... I guess we have that in every country eh?quote:Originally posted by Senora Reyes:quote:Originally posted by pretty~cocoa~eyes:Can you explain that for me?quote:Originally posted by Senora Reyes:quote:Originally posted by pretty~cocoa~eyes:

Yeah got it in one p~c~e, that's exactly what it is he looks down on those he considers unworthy of him and his class.
Spot on PCE... totally agree!quote:Originally posted by pretty~cocoa~eyes:

He boasts about the servants he has in India, and yet has worked as a postman here. If his parents were that wealthy, he would not have had to get a job to support himself.

I got one or two quite, erm, volatile reactions when I said stuff like this yesterday. He's a product of his environment, for sure. It doesn't excuse it, of course, but I think it explains it.

Someone told me that the uni he goes to isn't a particularly good one. It is the one that people go to when the others won't accept them.

It's Hatfield Poly, isn't it? Or the University of Hertfordshire as it's known these days. There's hideous snobbery over universities, rightly or wrongly, but the former polys usually have much lower grade entry requirements than the original universities and presumably that's because there's less demand for places. Whether that means it's not as good, rather than not as popular, is another matter I suppose.

Don't worry love, people can often misunderstand what I say, and give me a hard time.
Take no notice, most of us knew what you meant.

If it wasn't a housemate we were talking about then I'd have fought back but I just put it down to housemate wars and the related hightened emotions.

I do think Sree thinks he's superior to some of the housemates and I think the housemates should be more wary of him!
When he had the argument with Cairon last week when he was sitting on the sofa I'm sure he said "that creature" when refering to Cairon, now whatever he meant by it Im not sure but it was in very bad taste!
