i heard that today on the radio. if ever they were going to take the piss more its now
PMSL!! OMG!! What is wrong with thase crazy pc twonks?
Would one of you "PC gone mad" brigade please explain to me exactly how this story has anything to do with political correctness? (Apart, that is from one dodgy councillor giving a knee-jerk quote?)
I read that on Sky text earlier when my husband had just come home and was checking the cricket scores.
We both said how stupid, people had made jokes about it for years and years and no one took any notice
Stupid people

Strange though how the name Dick has died out, if you watch all those black and white films made here in the 40/50's anyone called Richard was also probably known as Dick, nowadays they would more likely to be known as Rich or Richie.
I dont see any raisin why this should be a currant story. As Homer Simpson would have it, "Dough!"
Changing the name to `Richard` actually draws more attention to the innuendo - makes it more obvious.
How silly.
How silly.

The world - (or is it us Brits) going mad!
A Spotted Richard sounds worse than a Spotted Dick,
all the pimply faced teenagers will be up in arms
all the pimply faced teenagers will be up in arms
What about Richard the Third?
Surely he'll be just as affronted and I'll be confused.
What is it?
A pudding or a shit??

Did anyone read about the fella who reckons those sweet bags were rude? Can't remember what they were but he said they showed pictures of sexual positions on the bag Begs the question, has he a dirty mind or, how did he ever have kids in the 1st place!!!!
As long as they leave the London Olympics icon uncensored then all is well.

I'll try to explain what I mean. Define political correctness... it's not using words which can be offensive to minority groups. Yes? Therefore.... these people think it's being politically correct not to use a word that some people may find offensive... THINKING they are being politically correct. However.. this isn't the true meaning of being politically correct (imo) hence 'political correctness gone mad' Does that make any sense? Nah... didn't think so.
I heard about Spotted Richard yesterday. Utter bobbins, or what?

Wasn't there a story a couple of years ago about Tesco changing its name to Spotted Richard? Has the world run out of news?
I have an uncle Dickie and I think that is a fine name.
and the cherry maoam looks ruder to me.

Presumably they don't have Coq au vin on the menu!?
i commend this action, it's about time immature people being silly and giggling were legislated against, it's ruining the fabric of society, i will be campaigning for the banning of laughing in public places and inciting smiling in a manner likely to cause a breach of seriousness!

Part of the joy in eating spotted dick were the rude comments, innuendoes and sniggering.
It's not PC gone mad, it's a stupid plonker with more time on his hands than sense in a position of power to change what he wants.
