I don't kill them because it's 'bad luck' that's what the OH tells me anyway, so unluckily for him he has to go catch them and set them free coz I freak out when I see them

Although my mate is so terrified of them she slept on the sofa for 2 nights because there was one in her room so I had to be brave and go hoover him up then throw the hoover bag in the bin *pats back*

That is a very imperialist attitude to take,

You are the Americans of the spider world!

I also kill earwigs.

How did you know it was a lady spider?

I love house spiders.

I think it is because my Mum used to hate killing them too and would give them names. If a large one appeared scuttling across the floor, she would say, "Oh look here comes charlie"

How could I be scared of something called Charlie?

My youngest is terrified of them BUT she would never kill one and doesn't let anyone else kill them for her either.

It's like snakes.

I think snakes are gorgeous and yet many people are so scared of them

I am the same.I am pleased cos I just rescued a silly bee who could not get out of the window. He was buzzing himself into oblivion... I am glad I found him. I love bees.

I never get them in the house now. I spray round my windows and doors with Raid cockroach killer. Keeps them out for 6 weeks  so I spray it every 4....just incase

I'm a wee (big) bit scared of them but I have to be brave when one of the girls sees one. My heart will be pounding out my chest but I don't show it. My mother always said "they are more scared of you"....so why do they always crawl towards me?

Sorry that is just so flipping cruel

Yep!

Spiders give me the shivery creeps so when they`re about I get son no. 2 to rescue them while I`m yelling, from a safe distance,   " be careful, don`t hurt it!"  He doesn`t, of course.

I used to say to my children when they were wee...all little creatures have a family..they`d miss them if they didn`t come home...just like we would.

Stretching it, obviously  but it gave them a sense of...it`s not just us who deserve to be here.

Hope that makes sense.....
